Pros
Sporty & Futuristic Design
The new Verna is an edgy and futuristic-looking mid-size sedan with a lot of cuts and creases. The sedan follows Hyundai's global 'Sensuous Sportiness' design language to give it a futuristic look. The front end is adorned by a connected LED light bar, a new headlamp assembly in the bumper, and a new front grille. The side profile gets a lot of sharp creases to enhance its appeal and boasts 16-inch alloy wheels. At the rear, the sedan gets a connected LED tail lamp and sharp design to enhance the overall appeal of the vehicle.
A Feature Loaded Offering
The Hyundai Verna has always been a feature-loaded sedan and the facelift launched in 2023 was nothing less. The new Verna comes with a plethora of features including an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated seats, wireless charging, BOSE 8-speaker sound system, auto headlamps, among other features.
Powerful Turbo Petrol Engine
With the facelift, Hyundai has introduced a new turbo 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine for the Verna. The Verna comes with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 160 PS of power and 253 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to a 7-speed DCT and 6-speed manual transmission. Owing to this engine, the Hyundai Verna facelift is the most powerful in the mid-size sedan segment.
Good Safety Features On Offer
The Verna facelift comes with a good number of safety features starting from the base variant. The Verna offers 30 standard safety features including 6 airbags, an all-seat 3-point seatbelt, seatbelt reminder, hill-assist, ESC, VSM, and ABS with EBD among others. The sedan also gets additional safety features in upper variants such as an all-4 disc brake in turbo variants, level 2 ADAS features, front parking sensor among others.
Neutrally Tuned Suspension
The suspension of the Verna has been improved if we compare it with its predecessors. The brand has tuned the suspension to offer a more comfortable ride quality. It feels nice and absorbent in the city but on highways it becomes a bit bouncy special at high speeds. In the city, the Verna offers good comfort.
Price & Hyundai's Vast Network
Hyundai has priced the Verna well and it starts at Rs 11.04 lakh (ex-showroom) and goes up to Rs 17.42 lakh (ex-showroom). The Verna is a well-packaged sedan and it is priced competitively in front of its rivals. Also, the benefit of the Verna is the extensive sales and service network of Hyundai across the country.

Cons
Radical Design
We've mentioned the design in the positive aspects as well but this is somewhat a negative as well. The radical design of the Verna is not up to everyone's taste, the sharp lines and creases will make it outdated soon. In the same segment, sedans like the Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia offer more timeless designs.
No Diesel Engine On Offer
The Verna comes with a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine option. Hyundai has phased out the diesel engine from the Verna lineup now and there is no hybrid on offer.
The Turbopetrol Engine Is Not Much Efficient
The turbo-petrol engine in the Verna is not much fuel fuel-efficient when driven with hard acceleration. The turbo-petrol engine is fun to drive and offers good performance but that takes a toll on the fuel efficiency. Also, when driving in the city with air-conditioning the engine gives an efficiency of 10-11 kmpl.
Missing Features
The Verna is filled with a plethora of features but it misses on some features as well. The Verna does not get the 360-degree camera, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, auto wipers, and a folding rear seat which might turn off some potential customers.

Verdict
Hyundai Verna is one of the longest running mid-size sedan in the Indian market. With the launch of the facelift last year, the Verna has received mixed reactions for its design. The design of the sedan is radical which might to attract much eyeballs. However, on the features front the Verna is the only sedan in the segment to boast features such as front parking sensor, level 2 ADAS, and other features.
