The MG Hector landed in India in 2019 and since its launch, this feature-loaded SUV has received a great level of attention from car buyers in the country. The MG Hector offers some best-in-segment features and ultra-premium interior which puts it ahead of its competitors. Over time, the Hector SUV has undergone several cosmetic updates. However, the facelifted version of the SUV is much more than just a cosmetic update. The new MG Hector gets an upgraded interior and worthy feature additions. MG Hector Old Vs New: Design

The new facelifted MG Hector features an all-new front fascia. It features an upgraded bumper and a diamond mesh pattern grille. The headlamps and DRLs positioning remain unchanged, providing the SUV with a clean look. Other changes include a piano black finish for the air dam and headlamp housing which replaces the brushed silver look on the outgoing model.

In terms of side profile, there is no change except for the new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Coming at the rear, you get a chrome strip extending to the SUV's full length. There's also a connected LED light bar that connects both tail lamps, a dual exhaust design and a smaller logo.

MG Hector Old Vs New: Interior and Features

Talking about the cabin, the facelifted MG Hector takes comfort to the next level. It features a new sleeker dashboard layout which looks more contemporary when compared to the previous -gen Hector. Talking about the space, the Hector SUV boasts best-in-segment headroom, knee room, legroom and under-thigh support as well.

In terms of features, you get a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, 6-way powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats (front), automatic control, and rear AC vents. There is no major convenience feature added except for the MG Assistant functionality on the SUV.

Safety Suite

In terms of safety, there are some notable additions such as Level 2 ADAS which includes features such as Adaptive Cruise Control. Autonomous emergency braking, Bend Cruise Assistance, Lane Keep Assistant. Moreover, you get a 360-degree camera and pedestrian detection feature. All these safety features were not available with the outgoing model.

Engine

MG Hector

The new facelifted Hector gets two engine options which include a 1.5-litre turbo petrol and a 2-litre diesel engine. Both the powerhouses come linked to a 6-speed manual, But the petrol unit also gets a CVT gearbox which significantly improves the city driving experience.   • 1.5-litre turbo petrol: 143 PS and 250 Nm
  • 2 litre diesel engine: 170 PS and 350 Nm

New MG Hector Price

The new facelifted version comes with a starting price tag of Rs. 13.99 lakh and goes up to Rs. 22.24 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The SUV is available in six monotone and one dual-tone paint scheme- Candy White, Havana Grey, Aurora Silver, and Glaze Red. Starry Black and Dune Brown. The dual-tone paint scheme includes a White and Black colour scheme.
