The updated Tata Harrier now includes a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). These features encompass forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, high beam assist, lane departure warning, lane change alert, blind spot detection, door open alert, traffic sign recognition, rear cross-traffic alert, and rear collision warning making up to a total of 13 features. The ADAS features are now becoming a new common with the latest launches, which in my opinion is a step in the right direction.

Competition Check- The Mahindra XUV700 and MG Hector, both get advanced driver assistance.

3. Ventilated Seats
Fearless Variant Onwards- Rs. 22.99 lakhs
Harrier from its Fearless variant onwards adds another very practical amenity, which are the front row ventilated seats. This is again something that is now being a standard fitment with the higher trims of even some smaller cars, courtesy of its supremely useful nature in the scorching Indian summers.
Variants Available:
Ventilated seats are available from Fearless variant of the Harrier, which costs Rs 22.99 lakh.
Competition Check- Again, the XUV700 as well as the MG Hector comes with front-row seat ventilation
4. Gesture ControlledPowered Tailgate
Fearless+ Onwards: Rs. 24.46 lakhs
While the updated Harrier added the convenience of a powered tailgate for easy operability, the one with this SUV also comes with a gesture-controlled system that needs you to hover your leg below the rear bumper that automatically releases the boot, if you have your hands filled with luggage.
Competition Check- While the MG Hector gets a powered tailgate and the Mahindra XUV700 completely misses out on this one, none of its rivals offers gesture-controlled functionality. Interestingly, Tata has offered this feature with its first Coupe SUV, the Tata Curvv as well.

5. 7 Airbags
Fearless+ Onwards: Rs. 24.46 lakhs
The Tata Harrier comes with 6 airbags as standard across variants and this is a welcome move already. However, it doesn't end with just that. With its Fearless+ trim onwards, the Harrier offers a 7-airbag set-up with additional safety for the knees. This is a bold step in the right direction and could also prompt the rivals to up their safety game.
Competition Check- Tata Harrier takes the leap with this one as both the MG Hector and the XUV700 offer just a 6-airbag set-up with their top-spec trims.

Verdict
The Tata Harrier si winessing a rise in demand since its facelift was launched and this can be attributed to its sharp aesthetics coupled with the trust that Tata SUVs have garnered over recent times. It has everythingh that you expect from a modern SUV at this price range. However, with a lto of options opening up in this price bracket, the buyers are a bit more critical and a litlle less forgiving, pushing brand to perfect their offerings in a bid to capture bigger share of the segment.
