The Aerox 155 comes with a keyless ignition with a smart key. With this, the scooter supports a keyless lock/unlock feature. The rider can use the remote key to locate the scooter in crowded areas by clicking the button and it activates the buzzer and blinkers of the scooter. For more convenience, the scooter can be turned on/off via a keyless ignition switch. The scooter offers added safety with the keyless ignition and lock/unlock features. The keyless ignition with smart key is available in the Aerox 155 S variant priced at Rs 1.51 lakh (ex-showroom).
Competition Check: The 150cc scooter segment in India has some limited options only and none of the Aerox 155 competitors offer keyless ignition. However, in the 125cc segment, this feature is available in the Honda Activa 125.
Digital Instrument Cluster With Bluetooth Connectivity
The Aerox 155 comes with a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. The scooter can be connected with the Yamaha Y-Connect Bluetooth application. With the help of the Y-connect application, the rider can get notifications of SMS, calls, email alerts, and phone battery status, on the instrument cluster. Moreover, the rider can track fuel consumption, service reminders, rev dashboard, last park location, and other vehicle-related details from the Y-connect app.
Competition Check: The primary rival of the Aerox 155 is the Aprilia SXR 160 which also comes with a digital instrument cluster but it misses on Bluetooth connectivity. Moreover, the 125cc scooter segment has a few options that offer Bluetooth connectivity.
Traction Control System, ABS, Idle Start Stop System
The Aerox 155 boasts several safety features, including a traction control system that offers good traction to the scooter when needed. The TCS reduces the chances of wheelspin and offers a stable ride. Other safety feature of the scooter includes a single-channel ABS which provides stability in panic braking situations and avoids slippage of the scooter. The Aerox 155 also gets an Idle Start/Stop system which helps with fuel consumption on idle conditions.
Competition Check: The Aerox 155's direct rival the Aprilia SXR 160 comes with a combi braking system and misses on ABS. However, the Aprilia SR 160 comes with a single-channel ABS.
