Mercedes-Benz is said to redefine the automotive design of its segment with the new S-Class. The shorter front overhang, redesigned rear overhang and long wheelbase give the S-Class one of the perfect proportions. Mercedes has also toned down the beltline and character lines to give it a sublime look. The Front of the new S-Class gets a redesigned grille with the three-pointed star sitting atop. The LED headlights no more get the three LED strips, however, we get three LED bulbs inside the headlight. The lower part of the front profile gets C-shaped chrome surrounds to improve the aesthetics.
The side profile is clean which is further supported by flush-fitting door handles and alloy wheels. The C-pillars of the new S-Class now sport the flowing design and the side sills are finished in chrome. The rear profile of the new S-Class is similar to the CLA with horizontally-placed wraparound LED taillights. The taillights are connected with a thick chrome bar and the lower part of the bumper also gets twin exhaust pipes.
Stepping into a New World of Luxury
The new Mercedes-Benz S-Class is completely redesigned on the inside with a dashboard layout never seen before. The lower centre part of the dashboard gets a vertically-stacked touchscreen which measures 12.8 inches. The whole unit resembles with Tesla's vertical screens but incorporates Mercedes' MBUX operating system. The whole unit is a touchscreen and also gets shortcut buttons on the edge. The Mercedes Me personal assistent now understands over 27 differnt languages and can be activated by calling "Hey Mercedes". The 4 air-con vents surrounded by a chrome strip sit atop the gigantic toucscreen.
A neat strip of ambient lighting starts from the front gate and goes to the other - giving it a very chiselled look. Everything is very high quality - even the door liners are drenched in quilted leather. The new S-Class comes with 1750watts, 31 speaker Burmester sound system to give amazing sound output. Mercedes has worked on both the front and rear seats and the extended wheelbase gives more space than before.
