2023 Benelli TRK 702 ADV has been introduced in the Chinese market. The new ADV is equipped with a muscular design, the latest features, & a powerful engine.
We've been consistently reporting about Benelli developing a new ADV. Ending the speculations, the 2023 Benelli TRK 702 ADV has made its debut in the Chinese market. It carries forward the design elements from its sibling bikes. The main aim of the TRK 702 is to fight against the well-stacked segment globally.
Benelli TRK 702 Design & Features
The design of the 702 seems to be inspired by its smaller siblings. The Benelli TRK 502 design elements are quite evident in the 702s design. The front has dual-pod LED headlights with a long beak and raised front suspension. A small windscreen provides protection against the wind. Additionally, the company has provided a small camera underneath the headlight unit. This is to be used either as a dash cam or sports cam to record the riding fun.
The butch design continues via the muscular fuel tank and the open subframe design. The side extensions do look a bit bulky; meanwhile, they are made out of plastic. However, the spilled-seat design has been well-incarnated with the top box mounting at the rear. An LED taillight is standard on the bike.
Speaking of the features, one can find an LCD screen with connected tech like Bluetooth connectivity, etc. Additionally, the features like USB phone charging, multiple riding modes, etc. are also being featured on it. Benelli is offering it in two variants. One is oriented for the hardcore off-road like the TRK 502 with a 19-inch front spoked rim and more upright riding posture. Meanwhile, the other variants are road-oriented with 17-inch alloy wheels and a more relaxed riding posture. The latter is going to suit more the highway tourer riders.
Engine & Specifications
However, it is the engine that is the main USP of this bike. Benelli has constructed a new 693cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. This unit is capable of churning out a peak power of 75 bhp along with 68.2 Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed gearbox with a slipper-assist clutch is also offered for seamless power delivery. Additionally, it features multiple riding modes which can be switched on the go via a toggle switch bar given on the handle.
Benelli has also chosen the hardware on the 702 very carefully. Hence, both the front & rear suspensions are fully adjustable. The front is a USD unit whilst the rear suspension is a single monoshock. Speaking of the brakes, the front end has a dual 300mm disc setup & the rear is a single 240 mm disc brake.
India Launch, Price, & Rivals
Benelli China has launched the TRK 702 at a price of Rs 5.4-5.9 lakh. However, this pricing is without the taxes and RTO charges. Meanwhile, we expect that Benelli will launch the TRK 702 in India by Q1 of 2023; in the same price range. Its main rivals include - Kawasaki Versys 650 & the Triumph Tiger Sport 660.
