Honda Activa 6G New Features - Details
As per Mr. Atsushi Ogata, president & CEO of HMSI; a new version is being planned for Activa 6G. This is mainly because of the immensely positive response that HMSI has received for its H-Smart variant. Mr. Ogata passed the information at the launch event of Honda Shine 100. Additionally, HMSI officials claimed that the response they're receiving for H-Smart is more than expected. Hence, new features are being planned for the scooter. On being asked what these could be; the answer indicated connected tech.
This means that Bluetooth smartphone connectivity will be offered on this new variant. Additionally, navigation can also be expected to onboard it. Meanwhile, all these features can only be monitored via a digital display. Hence, a fully digital or semi-digital display will also be offered in the upcoming variant. As per HMSI officials, these new features will be offered along with the H-Smart tech. Hence, this will turn out to be a new top-end variant for Activa in India.
Verdict
Honda Activa has been the segment king since its launch. Despite of multiple updates & efforts, rivals like TVS Jupiter & Hero Maestro Edge 110 have not come close to it in terms of sales. However, TVS has recently launched a new SmartXonnect version of its Jupiter. Similarly, Maestro also comes with the X-tec-connected features now. Hence, a new variant with all of these features makes more sense. If all goes well, this new version might launch in the coming months in India. Prices will be high due to its positioning in the product lineup.
