Honda has recently launched the new generation WR-V in the international market with updated looks and features. The Indonesian-spec 2023 Honda WR-V just underwent the ASEAN NCAP crash test and received a 5-star safety rating. The RS version of the SUV was put through a crash test. The RS model also comes with the Honda Sensing ADAS system. Both adult and child safety ratings for the SUV were 5 stars. Four airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Seatbelt Reminder System (SBR) for front occupants, and Pedestrian Protection technology are included as standard equipment in the five-seater SUV.

2023 Honda WR-V Crash Test
According to the ASEAN NCAP crash test report, the 2023 Honda WR-V has made a commendable performance in the ASEAN NCAP assessment with a total score of 77.07 points. From the score, the SUV has successfully obtained a maximum rating of 5 stars for all the assessed categories. It scored 27.41 points out of 32 points in adult safety and 42.79 points out of 51 points in child safety.
The Honda WR-V SUV, which is most likely headed to India, receives 14.88 points in the frontal impact test, 8 points in the side impact test, and 4.73 points in the head protection tech. The WR-V SUV comes standard with 2 airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters whereas the top-of-the-line RS Sensing model adds 6 airbags. For child occupant protection the SUV received 24 points in dynamic tests, 8 points in vehicle-based tests, 10.06 points for installing child seats, and 0.73 points for child detection.

Also, the top spec RS version comes with ADAS tech and in ADAS testing Honda's WR-V SUV performed well in the safety assist tests, earning a total of 16.37 points after scoring 6 points in effective braking and avoidance, 3 points in seatbelt reminders, 3 points in advanced SATs and 4.37 points in autonomous emergency braking.
Verdict
Honda may introduce the new generation WR-V to the Indian market in order to capture a sizeable portion of the sub-4 metre market and to replace the current generation WR-V, which will shortly be discontinued. The new WR-V has a tonne of features and a stylish look that will appeal to Indian consumers. The introduction of the new-generation WR-V will help Honda increase its presence in the Indian SUV market, which the brand currently lacks.
