2024 Bajaj Chetak Premium: What To Expect?
A significant improvement in the latest version of the Chetak is the addition of a new and more advanced TFT instrument display. This display comes with convenient features such as Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation, making it easier for users to handle calls, texts, and music on the go. It also includes practical functions like a tire pressure monitoring system and a remote immobilization feature. Notably, the existing riding modes (Eco and Sports) remain the same, providing familiar options for users. Moreover, the Chetak Premium variant now offers a more spacious boot, increasing its capacity from 18 litres to 21 litres.
In terms of performance, the upgraded Chetak Premium variant boasts a larger 3.2 kWh battery pack. This enhancement results in a certified range of 127 km, based on IDC standards. This means that in real-world usage, users can expect an improved overall range compared to the previous model.

With the introduction of a larger battery, the charging time will extend by approximately 30 minutes. The upcoming Chetak Premium model is set to achieve a higher top speed of 73 km/h, and it remains uncertain whether alterations to the electric motor are responsible for this boost.
These improvements mean that the price difference between the Chetak Urbane and the new Chetak Premium variant will likely be more noticeable. Bajaj recently released the 2024 version of the Chetak Urbane, starting at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In comparison, the existing Chetak Premium model starts at Rs 1.20 lakh. It will rival with the Ather 450, Ola S1 series, and TVS iQube. Drawing design inspiration from the original Chetak, it exudes a retro vibe.
Verdict
The 2024 Chetak Premium emerges as a commendable upgrade, blending modern tech like Bluetooth connectivity with a classic design. The increased battery capacity enhances its practicality, although the extended charging time may be a trade-off for some. With these improvements, Bajaj aims to strengthen its position in the competitive electric scooter market.
