When you think of a Honda Activa, you think about an affordable commute option. But what if we tell you there exists an Activa which costs Rs 15.71 Lakhs? Yes, at first it was hard to believe for us too but once you go through the details of it, you'll be able to gulp it down your throat as well.
Mr. Brij Mohan is a 42-year-old man who hails from the city beautiful i.e. Chandigarh. Apart from his advertising business, he's in news nowadays for buying a special paid number in the recent Chandigarh RTO number auction for a sum of Rs 15 Lakhs!
Chandigarh RTO is well known for auctioning special numbers for a paid sum from time to time. Many potential buyers attend the bid and try their luck over their favorite registration numbers up for grabs. Such one number in this auction was CH01-CJ-0001 which Mr. Brij Mohan successfully paid for. To keep this number, a newly purchased vehicle is necessary for registration transfer. To do this, a new Honda Activa worth Rs 71,000 was brought by Mr. Brij Mohan.
Mind you, this auction was stated between 14-16 April, where a total of 378 such special paid numbers were auctioned and grabbed by the respective owners. One of these numbers was the most costly and the most special one, which is now stuck over a Honda Activa. To grab this number, an advance sum of Rs 50,000 was already provided to the RTO by Mr. Brij Mohan. After this, the second most expensive number was the CH-01-CJ-0002 which was sold for Rs 5.4 Lakhs, then CH-01-CJ-0007 which went for Rs 4.4 Lakhs, and the CH-01-CJ-0003 which went for a relatively "affordable" Rs 4.2 Lakhs tag.
This news is not new for Chandigarh residents as such auctions in the Chandigarh region have been common for years now. The race to win such paid numbers in Chandigarh RTO is such high, that the RTO eventually started conducting auctions annually for such buyers.
