The government of India has revised the FAME-II subsidy rates from 1 June 2023. This has led to a massive hike in the prices of e-scooters in India. Ather 450X New Pricing - All Details
In the latest move, the FAME-II subsidy rates have been revised in India. The new subsidy is much lower than the previous rates. As per the details, the subsidy rates have decreased to Rs 10,000 from Rs 15,000 per kWh. Also, the maximum cap on the subsidy has been reduced from 40 per cent to 15 per cent on the MRP. Hence, every e-scooter manufacturer has hiked the prices of their product lineup.
Therefore, the 450X has also undergone a massive hike. It is available in two variants i.e. Standard & Pro Pack; of which both have received a steep price hike. The Standard variant is now Rs 30,285 costlier than before. It is now priced at Rs 1,46,664 ex-showroom. The previous price of the Standard variant was Rs 1,16,379 ex-showroom. The Pro Pack, on the other hand, received a hike of Rs 20,435. It is now priced at Rs 1,67,178 ex-showroom. It was earlier priced at Rs 1,46,743.
Verdict
The latest price revision of the Ather 450X e-scooter will impact new buyers. The e-scooter has also undergone a price revision recently due to the revision in the portable charger prices. Also, its rivals like Ola S1 Pro & Bajaj Chetak have undergone price hikes. Ola raised the prices by Rs 15,000. However, Hero Electric has promised that it'll not raise the pricing of its lineup due to the latest subsidy revision.
