Ather - Magenta ChargeGrid has agreed to a new joint venture to set up charging grids across India. The JV aims to set up more than 11,000 charging stations.
Adding to the ever-increasing green mobility sector; a new joint venture between Ather - Magenta ChargeGrid has emerged. The new partnership aims to set up charging grid stations across India to benefit EV users. The new MoU aims towards setting up more than 11,000 charging grid stations expanding between 35-40 cities pan India by FY23.
Speaking of the Magenta ChargeGrid, it is a new player in the EV manufacturing industry. The basic goal of the company is to provide easy and accessible charging solutions to EV owners. Expanding the charging portfolio, Magenta is already in partnership with big DISCOMS. Also, Magenta has shaken hands with the Indore Municipal Corporation, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation to set up more charging grids. Also, Magenta is in talks with hotels, shopping complexes, and parking area owners pan India to expand the charging grid stations.
Simultaneously, Ather Energy is on a constant uplift with receiving more and more bookings for its Ather 450X e-scooter. The 450X directly competes with other e-scooters such as the Ola S1Pro, Bajaj Chetak, & TVS iQube. Supporting the growth, Ather has successfully gained an investment of Rs 1,100 crores recently. This will helps the company to expand the production capacity and develop new products. Ather is already clear about its vision and it has made it clear that it'll be soon introducing itself to the new niches of EVs. This probably means that Ather is developing new two-wheelers or maybe commercial EVs as well.

The new JV is to support the existing Ather owners as well, so they can access charging on the go easily in the future. Also, the new partnership will become the country's first charging grid set up that allows two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and three-wheelers to charge altogether. This will encourage potential buyers to buy more and more EVs in the upcoming future.
