BMW India teased the India launch of its flagship coupe SUV - The X6 a while ago but due to the COVID-19 and extensive lockdown period, the launch got delayed. However, finally, we have a launch date now. June 11 is the date when the pair of illuminated kidneys will step in the Indian market. The X6 will be launched with a sole 3.0-litre turbo petrol engine whereas the diesel and high-performance variants will follow it soon.
The BMW X6 is a coupe-ish counterpart of the X5 SUV from Bavaria and sports the first illuminated Kidney grille. The front of the car sports big kidney grille, which in option, can be taken with LEDs that will lit up in the night. The M-sport variants get sportier bumpers and bigger air intakes along with M-sport wheels. The M-sport variant also gets fender scoops and faux air ducts.

The X6 will be a CBU and will feature only one petrol engine in the starting that is the 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-6 petrol engine producing 340 PS and 450 Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The power will be channelled to all four wheels via BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system. Overseas, the X6 also gets a more powerful 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 which produces 530 PS and other engines like 400 PS 3.0-litre diesel and 265 PS 3.0-litre diesel engines are also on offer.
The X6 will be launched in two trims - xLine and M-sport. The xLine trim will be more rugged with black body cladding and more offroad bits with chrome garnishes as well. On the other hand, the M-sport will be more sporty looking and sporting gloss black touches instead of chrome. The interiors of the X6 will be similar to the X5 but with lesser practicality. The flowing roofline will eat up on the rear headroom and boot space.
The interior gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with BMW's Drive controller and gesture control. The other screen is 12.3-inch digital driver's display which sports inverted dials and changes according to the drive modes. Other features include an air suspension, 360-degree parking camera, 4-zone climate control, BMW voice assistant, and a host of other features will be offered with the X6.

As it is a CBU, BMW will also offer a ton of customization options including exterior colour, alloy wheels, interior colour, upholstery and many more. If you are planning to buy the X6, it may touch the price bracket of up to Rs 1 crore and with options and the final on-road price, it may cost around 1.2-1.5 crores.
