At a time when the unprecedented demand for EV charging infrastructure is ascending in the country, it is natural for EV mobility solution companies to present their best products and infrastructure. Therefore, one such technology major that has launched its innovative electric vehicle charger is ABB.
ABB has launched an all-in-one charger called the Terra 360 modular charger which the brand claims to be the fastest EV charger in the market. The brand also claims that the charger can simultaneously charge up to four electric vehicles. The new charger has a maximum power output of 360kW and has the capacity to fully charge an electric car in less than 15 minutes.
Frank Muehlon, president of ABB E-mobility Division said. "With governments around the world writing public policy that favours EVs and charging networks to combat climate change, the demand for EV charging infrastructure - especially charging stations that are fast, convenient and easy to operate - is higher than ever. The Terra 360, with charging options that fit a variety of needs, is the key to fulfilling that demand and accelerating e-mobility adoption globally."

"It's an exciting day for ABB, who as the global leader in electric vehicle fast charging, is playing a key role in enabling a low carbon society," said Theodor Swedjemark, Chief Communications and Sustainability Officer at ABB. "With road transport accounting for nearly a fifth of global CO2 emissions, e-mobility is critical to achieving the Paris climate goal. We will also lead by example by switching our entire fleet of more than 10,000 vehicles to non-emitting vehicles." he added.
ABB has also stated that the Terra 360 modular charger will be made available in Europe from the end of this year as well as in the USA, the Asia Pacific and Latin America by next year ie. 2022.
As for the charger, it gets an innovative lighting system that assists its user to charge the vehicle efficiently. It also presents the State of Charge or SOC of the battery pack of an EV and the time left before the next charging session. The firm also stated that the EV charger is wheelchair accessible and has a special ergonomic cable management system that helps drivers plug in the EV quickly without any hassle. In addition to these features, the Tera 360 modular charger, the fastest EV charger in the world is fully customizable. It also has an integrated 27-inch advertisement screen to play video and pictures.
