Tata Harrier EV Latest Update
Last Update on 31st Oct'23: The highly anticipated Harrier facelift is scheduled to make its debut later this month, and for the first time, the electric version of the Harrier has been spotted. A recent online photo unveiled this electric two-row SUV, featuring the same front design as the prototype showcased at the Auto Expo 2023.
Design: The electric version of the Harrier SUV looks a lot like the normal diesel model. However, there are ample changes to give it a different unique identity. The front is sharp and modern with ‘closed’ grille concept. The bumper is all new and so are the alloy wheels. These do look cool and futuristic. The same design theme gets carried at the back as well. Expect both dual tone and single tone paint schemes at launch.
Battery & Motor: When launched, the Tata Harrier EV will be the flaship electric model for the company. Expect it come with segment topping battery pack which means a 55+ kWH battery pack. This should be big enough to give it a certified range of close to 500km or 300km+ easily in real world driving situations. The power from the pack will go to the electric motor that could produce 160-180 bhp of power and 350-400 Nm of torque. Expect drive modes as well as selectable regen levels.
Engine : The Harrier EV, built on the OMEGA Arc platform, might boast a larger battery pack compared to the Nexon. With a dual-motor setup and all-wheel drive, it could offer a range exceeding 500 km.
Features: You can anticipate a range of high-tech features in the Harrier EV, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, a 6-way power driver’s seat, a gesture-enabled powered tailgate, a 4-way powered co-drivers seat, dual-zone automatic AC, and a panoramic sunroof with mood lighting. Safety-wise, it's likely to come equipped with features like ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) seen in the regular Harrier, along with up to seven airbags, ESP, hill-hold and hill-descent control, a 360-degree camera, and TPMS.
Price: It's expected that the Tata Sierra will be priced in the range of Rs 22 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.
Rivals: Competing against the Mahindra XUV e8, the Tata Harrier EV presents itself as a premium option compared to the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric.
