Tata Curvv EV
This is Tata’s mid-size offering to rival upcoming EVs from Hyundai (Creta-based) and Maruti. The Curvv EV is positioned above the Nexon EV and is available with a choice of two battery packs. It is the most feature-loaded EV from Tata Motors yet and promises a 5-star crash test rating as well. The Curvv.ev looks future-ready and has a massive road presence, but the cabin is tight on space for five adults. This is the second car from the brand to use the Acti.ev platform and gets benefits like a massive boot and usable front frunk.

Should I buy the Curvv EV?
Tata Motors is already the largest EV maker in the passenger car market in India. All their products in the EV space are churning out good numbers but the Curvv.ev has to be the true flagship here. It has ample road presence, cabin space is comparable to mid-size SUVs, is feature loaded and narrows the price gap between conventional ICE SUVs and an e-SUV. Terrific pricing, excellent range and super quick charging capabilities make it an outright winner. It is currently the best EV over Rs 18 lakh in India.
- Interiors of the Curvv.ev resembles that of the Nexon.ev and Punch.ev. The low dashboard adds to the visibility part, and large windows aid airyness.
- A larger touch-screen takes centre stage and is accompanied by a full digital speedometer console. Top-spec versions come with cabin ambient lights as well.
- The 500-litre boot space is the best in the segment. Being an ev, the Curvv.ev also comes with a front frunk or storage space under the bonnet.
- Being a wide car, the Curvv.ev can take in 5 adults with ease. It is built on the Acti.ev platform, thereby making full use of the cabin space on offer.
- The Curvv.ev gets a flat bottom, two-spoke steering wheel - this is similar to what the Punch.ev gets.
- The most notable change in the Curvv EV is the addition of ventilated rear seats. Tata has also introduced new “ErgoWing” headrests for enhanced comfort. More importantly, the footrest area has been improved - and from the photos, it appears noticeably larger, allowing passengers to stretch out more comfortably during long drives.
- Lastly, these changes are all visible on the Accomplished and Empowered variants starting at Rs 18.49 lakh, (ex-showroom).
- The Curvv.ev carries design cues from the current generation of SUVs from Tata Motors. It looks more like a Nexon on steroids, and has a shut type grille.
- Large 18-inch alloys look bling and score top marks for improving the aesthetics of the e-SUV. A raised stance helps elevate the SUV quotient
- The sloping rear pillar and connected LED lights at the back lend a sporty touch to the Curvv.ev. This is by far the best-looking EV in the Rs 16-20 lakh bracket.
- Curvv.ev is offered in various shades as per the variant picked. The colour options include Empowered Oxide, Pure Grey, Flame Red, Pristine White and Virtual sunrise.
- For the price, the Curvv.ev has one of the best design themes and road presence in the segment.
Curvv EV body specifications:
| Wheel Size | R17 & R18 |
| Seating Capacity | 5 seaters |
| Ground Clearance | 186 mm |
| Boot Space | 500 liters |

- The Curvv EV gets two battery pack options. The smaller one is a 45 kWh pack and the larger is the 55 kWh pack. The bigger pack is offered is on all but the base version.
- As per ARAI certification, the new Curvv EV offers a range of 502 for the smaller battery pack and 585km for the larger 55 kWh pack. Both battery packs support fast DC charging.
- The Curvv.55 gets as much as 167 PS of power from its motor, enabling it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 9 seconds. Top speed is limited to 160km/h and the e-SUV comes with 3 driving modes.
