Hero Xtreme 250R Design And Features: A Proper Streetfighter
Hero MotoCorp has retained much of the sharp-looking highlights of the Xtunt 2.5R in the new Xtreme 250R, which makes it one of the sharpest-looking motorcycles from the brand yet. All panels, including the front fascia with an all-LED headlamp, the fuel tank and its Y-shaped fuel tank extensions, and the tail section, give the Xtreme 250R an edgy appearance.
The Xtreme 250R has several elements of a modern streetfighter, like an all-LED headlamp, tail lamp, and turn indicators, split seats, split pillion grab rails, and a full-TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. The tail section has a floating design, with the Xtreme 250R having a functional rear tyre hugger with LED turn indicators mounted on it. The new Hero Xtreme 250R will be available in a single fully-loaded variant with three colour options Firestorm Red, Neon Shooting Star and Stealth Black.
Xtreme 250R Engine And Performance: The New Segment Benchmark
With the new Xtreme 250R, Hero MotoCorp has debuted its new four-stroke, single-cylinder, four-valve, 250cc engine. Derived from the 210cc engine of the Karizma XMR, this new engine has an increased stroke and is paired with a 6-speed transmission.
With 30 PS @ 9,250 rpm and 25 Nm @ 7,250 rpm, the new Hero Xtreme 250R claims a sprint time of 3.25 seconds for the 0-60 kmph run figures that make it one of the most powerful 250cc naked streetfighters on sale in India.
Suspension And Brakes: Top-Notch Hardware
Based on a new steel trellis frame, the new Hero Xtreme 250R has a premium mechanical setup, comprising a 43mm upside-down dual-cartridge telescopic fork at the front and a gas-charged, 6-step adjustable mono-shock at the rear.
With 320mm front and 230mm rear petal disc brakes, the new Xtreme has 17-inch alloy wheels with 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear tubeless tyres. The Xtreme 250R has been equipped with a dual-channel ABS, though it misses out on other electronic riding aids.
Verdict
With this bike, Hero MotoCorp is directly aiming at other edgy-looking streetfighters in the 250cc segment, including the KTM 250 Duke, Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and Bajaj Pulsar N250. The affordable pricing and flamboyant styling of the Xtreme 250R should help Hero MotoCorp find a strong foothold in the 250cc category.
