Honda India appears to be streamlining its lineup by discontinuing certain variants of its models. Following the Honda Amaze, the latest model to undergo changes is the Honda City hybrid. Honda City Hybrid Base Variant Phased Out
In India, Honda offers the Honda City hybrid (City e: HEV) in two variants: V and ZX. The company has discontinued the base variant, V, just like it did with the Amaze where the Elite and base variants were phased out. Interestingly, although the pricing page on the official website still shows the base V variant for the City hybrid, the starting price on the model's homepage is listed as Rs 20,50,100 (Ex-showroom).

Honda City Hybrid Prices Raised For Available Variants
The prices for the variants of this model have been adjusted recently. The ZX variant in solid colours now costs Rs. 16,100 more, while the metallic paint VX variant has seen a larger increase of Rs. 88,100. If you're interested in the ZX with CVT (Automatic), it's now priced at Rs. 20,50,100. Alternatively, the ZX variant with reinforced safety features comes in at Rs. 20,55,100.
This model comes in six colour options: Lunar Silver Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Golden Brown Metallic, and Meteoroid Grey Metallic.
It competes closely with other impressive hybrid models such as the Maruti Grand Vitara and the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
Verdict
Discontinuing the base variant might disappoint potential buyers looking for more affordable options in the lineup. It's still unclear whether Honda will introduce any new variants, but whatever happens will surely affect the Honda City.
