KTM had given a glimpse of the 790 Adventure back in December 2019 during the launch of the 390 adventure. While the 390 Adventure gave the Indian fans a taste of KTM's adventure bikes, KTM told that they intend to launch the 790 adventure in India by early 2021
In line with the company's statements, the 790 adventure indeed has been spotted in Pune multiple times. Apparently, the KTM 790 adventure is slated to be launched in March 2021

While the Duke 790 has been replaced by the Duke 890, KTM ADV fans have something to cheer about with the launch of the 790 Adventure. The 790 Adventure will also serve as the ideal replacement for existing 390 adventure owners as well.
The 189 kg dry of the bike makes it one of the lightest ones in the segment. Like the erstwhile Duke 790, the 790 Adventure will be powered a 799 cc parallel twin cylinder engine which is good for 94 BHP and 88 Nm of torque. However the tuning of the engine would be different. It will be tuned more towards providing better low end torque.
KTM 790 Adventure is equipped with WP APEX 43 USDs up front which offer 200mm of travel and the WP APEX monoshocks at the rear which are good for 200mm of travel as well. The 790 Adventure uses a tubular chromium-molybdenum-steel frame that uses the engine as a stress member. Seat height is 850mm and the ground clearance is 233mm.

The 790 Adventure comes with electronic goodies such as a Bosch 9.1 MP system that controls cornering and off-road, an ABS system that be disengaged as well. The ride-by-wire throttle comes with riding modes (Street, Rain, Off-road and an optional extra - Rally) and lean sensitive traction control with off-road modes, which can be switched to different levels depending on your capability/choice.
The KTM 790 adventure is expected to be priced around 12 lakhs when launched in India in early 2021. It will mainly compete with the Triumph Tiger 900 upon launch
