KEY HIGHLIGHTS
- The Mahindra Scorpio N Gateway was spotted testing in Manali, Himachal Pradesh.
- It might feature the same 2.2L mHawk diesel engine.
- Two models were spotted: the regular cab and the crew cab.
The Mahindra Scorpio N truck version was recently spotted in the Himalayas, fully camouflaged, but not enough to make it difficult to guess that it's a Scorpio N. To add to that, this particular test vehicle was in a regular truck shape, which means it was a single-row truck. If you remember, Mahindra used to sell the Gateway, essentially a different moniker for the Scorpio pickup truck. This suggests that the Indian automaker will soon launch it. Let's see. The Gateway is mostly used by the Army, and I'm sure you must have seen these Scorpio pickup trucks in their caravan. Now, the Indian giant carmaker is testing the newer generation of Scorpio N models. The front end is completely the same, but from the side, you'll notice an extremely long bed area, making it even longer than a regular N model.
To add more, it had only on row, only of driver, then after it was just long strech of open area, plus from rear it features the halogen tail-lights of the Mahindra Gateway. So, it indicates that, this truck will be developed strictly for the special purposes, and people can't travel with their families in it.

To elaborate further, this truck will feature the same powertrain as the 2.2L mHawk diesel engine that produces 174 PS and 370 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. This engine is also available in several other iterations with more power, and a 6-speed automatic torque converter, but I believe Mahindra won't offer it with the truck, as this is machine is not developed to provide comfort.

Also, a new image is circulating on the web, showing another truck based on the Scorpio N with 4 doors and a long bed. It was spotted in the same location as this one, and if launched, it will come with the same specifications.

Verdict
This is great news for people who bought the Mahindra Gateway, as they might soon get to own the latest generation with an even more powerful engine. As of now, there is no concrete information on whether Mahindra will launch it here or plan to send it to international markets. That said, if it does launch here, the majority of them would likely be purchased by the Indian Army. Follow for all the updates on this spy shot.
