- Mahindra Thar four-wheel drive to get Everest White color option
- Exclusive only to the rear-wheel drive variants before
- Going forward, Blazing Bronze will be the only color exclusive to 2WD variants
Imagine cruising down the highway, the wind in your hair, and the sun shining down on your brand-new Mahindra Thar in a dazzling white color. You're sure to feel like a true adventurer, ready to take on any challenge that comes your way. Well, now you don't need to get a wrap for the same. Mahindra, after rolling out the white color for its RWD( Rear Wheel Drive) variant of Mahindra Thar is now ready to offer the same in the 4X4 variant as well.
New Everest White; Now On The Mahindra Thar 4X4 Variant
This new white paint scheme debuted on the Thar RWD and remained exclusive to that for quite a while. But, in a recent report, it was very much confirmed that the 4X4 version will be blessed with the new paint job as well. Now the only color that remains the differentiator is Blazing Bronze, which remains exclusive to the Rear Wheel Drive variant.
The Thar currently gets a total of six color options. Napoli Black, Red Rage, Galaxy Grey, Aquamarine, Everest White, and Blazing Bronze.
Plus, you can't really tell if the Mahindra Thar beside you on the road is a 4X4 or an RWD variant. Why? The difference is just the missing 4X4 badge and everything is the same from inch to inch. Obviously, not the transmission. Plus, a lot of people are going for an aftermarket 4X4 badging, which makes it impossible to guess, if you are not hopping inside the cabin only to find out that the 4X4 engage stick shift missing. This is both, a good and a bad thing, depending on who you are.
Engine: Horsepowers And Torque
The Mahindra Thar is available with 3 engine options: a 1.5L Turbo Diesel, a 2.0L Turbo Petrol, and a 2.2L Turbo Diesel.
The 1.5L Turbo Diesel makes 118PS of power at 3500rpm and 300Nm of torque at 2500rpm mated to a 6-speed Manual transmission.
The 2.0L Turbo Petrol delivers 150PS of power at 5000rpm and 300Nm of torque at 3000rpm. This Petrol engine gets both, a 6-speed Manual and a 6-speed Automatic transmission.
The 2.2L Turbo Diesel is rated to deliver 130PS of power at 3750rpm and 300Nm of torque at 2800rpm. Just like the 2.0-liter turbo petrol, it gets both a 6-speed Manual as well as an Automatic gearbox.
With this segment nascently getting traction, the direct rival is the Force Gurkha, and now the upcoming Maruti Jimny 5-door only.
VERDICT- When the Everest White makes it's way officially to the 4X4 version, the Blazing Bronze will be the only exclusive paint scheme on the RWD variants. Plus, the demand for a white Thar was also somewhat increasing, with the adventure junkies going for an aftermarket wrap for the same. This will cut down on the hassle and the added cost to such enthusiasts.
