What Is The Hike?
Nissan India has revised the pricing for its popular sub-four-metre SUV by Rs 22,000. The base variant of the Nissan Magnite, which was priced at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom), now costs Rs 6.12 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the Magnite has six variants: Visia, Visia Plus, Accenta, N-Connecta, Tekna, and Tekna Plus. So now, the top variant, Tekna Plus, starts at Rs 9.24 lakh (ex-showroom).
The naturally-aspirated petrol MT variants have seen the lowest hikes, with prices of the N-Connecta MT increasing by just Rs 8,000. While the highest price hikes of Rs 22,000 are applied to the Turbo Petrol CVT Tekna and Tekna+ variants. The AMT and turbo-petrol MT versions also see notable increments ranging between Rs 13,000 and Rs 19,000.

What Does The Magnite Offer?
Mechanically, the Nissan Magnite remains the same. It continues to be powered by either a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine or a 1.0-litre nat-asp petrol engine. Both the engines get clubbed with a 5-speed manual transmission, while the 1.0-litre petrol gets the option of an AMT. On the other hand, the turbo-petrol engine gets the option of a CVT unit.
In terms of features, it gets a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an auto-dimming IRVM, air purifier, cruise control, and proximity sensors which unlocks the car as you approach it, and a wireless charger among other things.

Verdict
The Nissan Magnite remains one of the most value-for-money sub-four metre SUVs in India, even with the recent price hike. While the increase of Rs 22,000 may impact budget-conscious buyers, the Magnite continues to offer a well-rounded package with a feature-rich cabin, multiple powertrain options, and an attractive starting price.
