Okinawa Autotech has unveiled their new Maxi scooter at the 2020 Auto Expo today. This is assumed to be their 9th electric scooter in the Indian market. It comes with a beefy fixed front LED headlight, front disc brake and digital instrument cluster.
Okinawa claims a big scooter feel with their maxi scooter. To draw some perspective, the Okinawa maxi-scooter is nearly 50 mm longer than the Suzuki Burgman street which apparently is the only maxi-scooter on sale in India right now.
Okinawa Maxi scooter gets a 3 kW brushless electric motor with a top speed of 100 km/h. The battery here is a 4 kW lithium-ion battery which takes 3-8 hours for a full charge via a conventional power socket. The fast charger though takes 2-3 hours for a full charge.

It will offer a range of 75-80 kilometres and could be charged from nought to 100 percent in around 3-8 hours. The scooter offers a top speed of 100km/h. The battery pack might come closer to the Ather but it is far behind in terms of charging time. However, it is impressive to see the top speed of 100km/h.
The colour on display was the flashy golden but we expect some more mature and appealing colours at launch as well. Maxi scooter trend is not that much popular in India and the Burgman is not doing great for Suzuki either. We think this will do good for Okinawa because of its big dimensions.

Coming to the features, it comes with an LED headlight, semi-digital instrument cluster, storage at the front compartment, central locking, anti-theft alarm, keyless entry, USB charging socket and front and rear disc brakes. It also gets regenerative braking. The launch is expected to happen in the middle of this year. However, we don't have an estimate of the price at which it will be offered.
