The pre-bookings of the upcoming 2022 Grand Cherokee have begun at select Jeep dealerships across India. This will be the brand's fourth product in India after, Compass, Trailhawk and Wrangler. All of these models are widely popular in the Indian market.
The biggest highlight of the Grand Cherokee is ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). Some of the features of ADAS are given below -
Adaptive cruise control with stop and go
Blind sport detection
Cross path detection
Drowsy driver detection
Active lane management system
Intersection collision assist system
Pedestrian emergency braking
Full-speed warning collision warning
Along with the ADAS, the Grand Cherokee also gets other safety features like rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, 3-point seatbelt and occupant detection for all five passengers, front seat-belt reminder, a high-speed alert system, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD and electronic stability control, traction control and more.

On the inside, the seats of the SUV gets finished in Capri leather with perforated inserts. Along with this, it also gets a 10-inch heads-up display for driver accessibility, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 10.25-inch instrument cluster. The SUV also gets a 10.25-inch front passenger interactive display which is a first in the segment.
Under the hood, we expect the upcoming SUV to be powered by a 2.0-litre, turbocharged petrol motor. The power and peak torque figures are not out yet but the engine will be mated to an 8-speed automatic torque converter gearbox. Along with this, the Grand Cherokee will also get terrain modes like - snow, mud, auto and sport.
As of now, the pre-bookings are open on the website and select Jeep dealerships. The SUV will be launched on November 11 and the deliveries will start by the end of this month. Once launched, it will lock horns with BMW X5, Mercedes-Benz GLE and Audi Q7.

Verdict
Being the fourth product from Jeep, we expect the prices of the Grand Cherokee at a competitive pace with its rivals. It is expected to be launched in a single top-of-the-line variant that will have a plethora of features. The Grand Cherokee's powerful version, SRT, is not expected to launch anytime soon.
