Skoda Kamiq is a compact SUV from the Czech carmaker and also known as the smallest SUV in Skoda's lineup. Recently, a white Skoda Kamiq was spied on the Indian roads without any camouflage. Now here the twist arrives, the Kamiq is a Creta-rivaling SUV and sits on the MQB-AO platform. But Skoda India is working on the Vision IN SUV which will also rival the Creta and sit on the tweaked MQB-AO-IN platform. So what's the point of testing the Kamiq when Skoda is already working on the exactly similar car? We shall find out.
The Kamiq was launched in the international markets last year and Skoda also recently launched the first Scoutline trim with the Kamiq. The perfect sense one can make out from the spied car is that Skoda may be testing the powertrain and platform with the Kamiq for the Vision IN which will be launched in India next year. Speculations suggest that the Vision IN SUV will be called as Skoda Kliq but nothing has been said officially from Skoda' end.

Talking about the Vision IN, it will be powered by a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine with 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque mated to either 6-speed manual and 7-speed DSG box. To keep the pricing in check, Skoda may also give the 1.0-litre TSI we see in the Rapid with the Vision IN and CNG options may also be considered to fill the gap of diesel engines. The Kamiq also gets 1.6-litre TDI engine globally but the launch of Kliq diesel is still not expected.
Talking about the Skoda Kliq in particular, it will sport a distinctive design language with a big Skoda signature grille and split headlight upfront and inverted LED taillights at the rear. To boost the masculine factor of the car, Skoda will also offer 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, body cladding all around and also aluminium skid plates on the front and back. The Kliq will rival cars like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks and its own sibling, VW Taigun. The launch of the Skoda Kilq will happen in Q2 of 2021 and Skoda is also planning other cars for the Indian market as well.
