Summers are here and it is no surprise that our cars suffer the most when they are parked outside in the scorching heat. The inside of the car's temperature can be as high as up to 100 degrees and today, in this article, we will explain some AC hacks which you can use to cool your car in summers.

Use the shade of a tree or park in an underground parking
This is one of the best hacks in summers to cool your car AC when the temperature rises high. With the temperature reaching up to 45 degrees in Delhi, the temperature inside the car is quite high, thanks to the greenhouse effects. So simply you can use underground parking which will prevent the car from heating up due to the direct sunlight.
One can also park the car under a tree! The temperature will be high but then due to the shade, it will be much less when compared to any car that is parked in direct sunlight. Parking the car in a shade also helps in reducing the load on the AC when you start it.
Regular AC Servicing
This is one of the most effective ways to get that cool air from your car's AC. With the regular check-up of the AC, it gives out a maximum result and the service can be opted from the authorised service centre or from a trusted mechanic! You can also clean up the AC filter and air filter yourself on an interval of 15 days or so. Do note that in the month of April and May, most car manufacturers come up with free A/C check-up camps. The same should be availed in our opinion - however, this year, it will only be possible post 3rd May.
Usage of sunshades, blinders, curtains etc
Window tinting is banned all across the country and to cool your car's temperature by a certain bit you can use sunshades. The sunshades will cover all the windows while you can use the reflectors to cover the front and rear windshield. In under Rs 1000, you can purchase these accessories and help yourself and your car from the rising temperature due to the heat.
Aftermarket UV Cut glasses
Maruti Baleno was the first budget segmented hatchback that came with UV cut glasses. These glasses are specially designed to reduce the UV rays coming from the sun by a certain percentage. When you are driving in high temperatures, these glasses turns out to be an effective choice. One can also opt for aftermarket shops to install these glasses and remove the original non-UV cut glasses. We believe these aftermarket ones do come with a warranty.
Opening the windows by a little bit
As to reduce the temperature which builds on the inside, one can open their car windows slightly. Doing this process, the air circulation is regulated with the outside temperature and the one building up inside. However, this process is only for those who have parked their car in a secure location. You can also install door visors so even if you roll down your windows by a certain bit, strangers wouldn't notice.
Roll down windows before starting the AC
When you return to your car after leaving it parked under the sun for hours, you need to roll down the windows so the temperature is cooled down with the help of fresh air. One can also open the doors and liftback the rear cargo door. It will allow the temperature to drop down quickly and eventually put less load on the AC.
Check the fluids of your car
It is advisable to check the coolant level of your car before summers arrive. If it's low then this will give you time to visit the service centre and perform the task. Do check engine oil is up to the mark and requires any filling. The same step goes for the battery of the car.
In summers due to the excessive temperature and AC load, the batteries tend to lose their charge. The best way is to remove the dirt from the terminal ends. It is advisable to replace the battery beforehand if you are having a problem.

Check the tyres
Well, the tyres need to be checked throughout the year, summer season requires some extra attention. With the rising temperature, road surface tends to heat up a bit more and thus the wear and tear of tyres happen. Ensure you have your tyres aligned, have the recommended pressure and check the tread for any nails, stones etc.
