Suzuki Recalls Over 4 Lakh Units Of 2 Wheelers: Access, Avenis, Burgaman, And More
Suzuki has announced a significant recall for the Suzuki Access 125, Burgman 125, and Avenis 125 models. This recall affects units produced between April 30 and December 3, 2022. The recall addresses an issue with a faulty high-tension cord connected to the ignition coil. Suzuki explained that the cord, which did not meet quality specifications, could crack and break due to repeated engine oscillations. This can lead to engine stalling and starting problems. Additionally, if the damaged cord comes into contact with water, it may harm the vehicle speed sensor and throttle position sensor, causing potential issues with the speed display and starting.
The extent of this recall spans over 4 lakh Suzuki 2-wheeler units. The recall involves 388,411 scooters produced between April 30, 2022, and December 3, 2022. Suzuki is conducting this as a precautionary measure, urging scooter owners to visit their nearest service center for a check-up and to address any potential issues. Suzuki has identified the number of affected units as follows: 263,788 units of Access 125 , 52,578 units of Avenis 125, and 72,025 units of Burgman.

Suzuki has also announced a separate recall for the V-Strom 800DE in India, covering units produced between May 5, 2023, and April 23, 2024. This international recall affects an estimated 67 units in India. The issue involves a defective rear tire that may develop cracks or deformities in the tread. If not addressed, sections of the tread could detach, affecting vehicle handling and the affected motorcycles will receive a replacement rear tyre.
