As India moves towards environment friendly mobility solutions like electric vehicles, automotive manufacturers across the world have showed their interest to kick into this race. India being a highly consumer centric market has high consumption rates when compared to any country in the world and today we have another United States based company planning its operations in India. Triton Electric is founded my Mr. Himanshu Patel who plans to bring his products to India.

Triton Electric plans to introduce commercial electric vehicles in India by manufacturing them here itself. To accomplish this aim, they have signed an MoU with the Gujarat government to set up their electric commercial vehicle production plant at Kutch Bhuj in the state of Gujarat. The organisation plans on generating more than 10,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities in the state with their manufacturing operations.
Triton Electric will set up their first plant with a total investment of Rs. 10,800 crores with the investments rising significantly year after year. The planned production site would be spread in a massive area of 645 acres and the production capacity would be around 50 thousand trucks annually to cater to the needs of the Indian buyers. This plant would constitute all the shops in-house like the chassis and cabin, hi-tech robotic paint shop, chassis sub assembly and quality assurance and material testing lab.
Triton Electric vehicles manufactures electric semi trucks, Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs), electric sedans, defence electric vehicles and electric e-rickshaws, but in India, at this stage they are planning to establish the commercial EV sector as of now.
The Triton Electric semi truck is their first production ready truck which is powered by a 300kWh battery pack and a hydrogen cell stack. Alongside, Model H is one of the full size SUVs by the brand which is currently under development. It promises high performance and is powered by a 200 kWh battery pack with an ability to hyper charge itself in just two hours. On a full charge, the Model H would be capable of returning a range of approximately 1200 kms in a single go.
