Upcoming KTM 390 Duke Details
The new Duke is being tested rigorously. We've already done multiple stories on the spotted test mules. It seems that KTM wants to test each & every bit before debuting the new bike. This seems logical as it'll get major updates. The first and most important update will be its engine. The new bike will get a bigger 399cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine.
Additionally, its subframe will be redesigned and so will the swingarm. The test bike spotted has an offset monoshock rear suspension. At the front, it gets a bigger disc brake, a new alloy wheel, & a new exhaust system.
Meanwhile, the design of the new bike will also be revised. The fuel tank extensions look very big in overall proportions. Also, the headlight is a new LED unit. The TFT colour display is also likely to get bigger in size and a new UI shall also be embedded onto it. Other than this, the tail section looks wider with a wide pillion seat and split grab rails. The LED taillight design also looks completely new. We're also expecting KTM to offer multiple ride modes, ABS modes, & switchable traction control on the new model.
Verdict
The new 390 Duke is anticipated to debut by early 2024 in India. Currently, the testing indicates that KTM is on its final phase of finalizing the new bike. Recently, the new Triumph Speed 400 also made its debut in India & it received a very good response. Hence, KTM might be taking its time so that the dust gets settled down therefore making way for the new Duke's popularity. We suspect that KTM will price it above Rs 3 lakh mark upon its launch. Some of its rivals will include the BMW G 310 R & the upcoming TVS Apache RTR 310.
