The C40 Recharge, the second fully electric vehicle from Volvo, is about to be unveiled in the Indian market. On June 14, the company will unveil the C40 Recharge. A price announcement will follow later in the year. The upcoming C40 Recharge shares platform with the XC40 Recharge and receives a similar battery pack. Volvo C40 Recharge - Exterior & Interior
The Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) of the XC40 Recharge is also shared by the Volvo C40 Recharge. Although both cars have the same front fascia, the C40 has a sloping roofline at the back that gives it a coupe aspect, making it appear to be the coupe version of the XC40 Recharge. It also boasts distinct LED tail lamps, a rear spoiler, and a twin pod roof spoiler.
The upcoming C40's interior features a touchscreen infotainment display with Android OS and a number of pre-installed apps. It also sports a panoramic sunroof, wireless charger, a Harman Kardon premium 13 speaker sound system, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, and other convenience as well as safety features including ADAS. The C40 Recharge will forgo leather seats, following the lead of the XC40 Recharge.

Volvo C40 Recharge Powertrain
Speaking of the powertrain, it will have a 78kWh battery pack and similar to the powertrain of the XC40 Recharge. Two electric motors, one for each axle, will propel the vehicle. It has a peak torque capacity of 660 Nm and a maximum power capacity of 407 bhp. With the 78 kWh powertrain, the range of the C40 will be close to 420 km. For the international market, the C40 is also offered with a single electric motor model. A 150kW DC fast charger can charge the C40 Recharge from zero to eighty percent in 37 minutes.
Verdict: The new Volvo C40 Recharge will give potential purchasers of premium EVs a premium choice. It will be feature-rich and packed with safety features, just like all Volvo vehicles are.
