The Kia Carens Clavis can be considered a more mature evolution of the Carens. The brand has taken customer feedback into account to make it more SUV-like, while also enhancing the interior. It continues to offer the same practical and comfortable cabin experience. The wide range of engine options provides flexibility for customers. However, the variant distribution based on engine and transmission combinations could have been better. That said, the Carens Clavis remains a practical, premium, and stylish MPV.

Elegance personified - Clavis is a big step up in terms of looks. 9

• Kia Carens Clavis is a facelift to Carens, but the overall design of it fools us into thinking that it is a brand-new vehicle. As several small details all add up to elevate its charmness, and definitely, the way it looks is going to be a huge differentiator in sales figures.
• The front end now gets a Kia digital tiger face with diamond finish decor, which gives it a very rich and neat look. Also, the bumper features silver skid plates that add a touch of elegance. A very unique element that makes this fascia good-looking is that small chrome strip in the middle, which is quite minimalistic but has an overall great impact.
• Now, the all-new inverted L-shaped LED DRLs, plus three ice-cube LED headlamps, appear futuristic and align with Kia's bigger models like the EV3 and EV6.
• For Clavis, Kia uses new 17 Inch crystal-cut dual-tone alloys, which again — are so similar to the alloys we have seen on bigger Kia cars, but they definitely appear striking and artistic.
• The most attractive part of the rear section is the connected LED tail-lights, as it makes the rear end quite wider and luxurious. Moreover, the whole tail-light section appears new - with blacked-out elements.
• As compared to the Carens, the chrome usage has been significantly reduced, but the high usage of silver skid plates is very loud and clear.

• Looking at the interior, one thing is quite understandable and should be appreciated that - Kia has listened to the feedback, and made the central console area quite minimalistic, which enhances the overall ambience and quality level.
• The Clavis features a double D-cut steering wheel, which is also a flat-bottomed, two-spoke steering wheel. This was previously seen in the Kia Syros.
• Like every other Kia, it's loaded with features and large screens, and here too, we get a 26.62 Inch panoramic display that incorporates 12.25 Inch of infotainment screen and 12.25 Inch of instrument cluster.
• Also, the Carens Clavis has a panoramic sunroof that everybody loves and has a huge demand in India. The Carens only has a single-pane sunroof, so this is a great feature which will boost their sales.

• The biggest talking point of this car is the advent of Level 2 ADAS with 20 autonomous features. It gets a camera and radar-based system, and includes features such as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, high beam assist, 360-degree parking camera, and more.
• Apart from that, there are 18 active and passive standard safety features in Carens Clavis.
• The 12.25-inch infotainment screen will receive OTA updates, ensuring that the system stays updated. If it detects any malfunction, it will fix itself.
• For a great musical experience, there are 8 speakers by Bose which can turn any normal drive into a memorable one.
• The front seats get a ventilation function, and the driver's seat gets a 4-way power adjustable function. However, it still doesn’t have height adjustment even now.

Similar Powertrain Setup as Carens 9

• Here too - the engine options are the same - 1.5L Naturally aspirated petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel. For normal city commutes the 1.5L naturally aspirated is great, for highway travel it feels little lethargic as Carens is a huge car.
• For long journeys both 1.5L turbo and 1.5L diesel makes more sense, as they have great power on offer and the diesel one will provide great fuel efficiency.
• Gearbox options include 6MT, 6iMT, 6AT, and 7-DCT. Another great thing Kia has done this time is offer a 6-speed manual with the 1.5L turbo petrol, which was previously available only with the 7-DCT.
