Toyota Innova Hycross

Although the HyCross and Crysta share the 'Innova' name, their appearance couldn't be more different. The HyCross is notably larger than the Crysta and features a completely new design theme. At the front, a raised bonnet, large grille, and chrome accents around the grille and fog lamp area dominate the scene, particularly on the top-end trims which also come equipped with LED DRLs.

The side profile accentuates the vehicle's mass and long wheelbase, with flared wheel arches adding a muscular touch. Only the top-end versions boast 18-inch alloy wheels, while lower models with 16 or 17-inch rims may appear less proportionate. However, given its more MPV-oriented nature rather than an SUV, this aspect isn't a major concern.

The unique rear design features a 'raised' stance treatment, complemented by large wrap-around tail lamps and prominent badging indicating the version and fuel type. The HyCross is available in seven color options, none of which are particularly bold, with choices including two shades of white, three shades of black, and one each of silver and bronze.

Toyota offers two engine options for the HyCross, with no diesel variant available. The first engine is a 1987cc pure petrol unit, delivering 173 bhp of power and 209 Nm of torque. It is paired exclusively with an automatic gearbox and boasts an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 16.3 kmpl, leading the segment in terms of mileage.

The second engine option is a robust hybrid unit, also with a 1987cc engine but supplemented by an electric motor. This electric motor draws power from a 1.7 kWh battery pack, enabling the HyCross to switch to pure EV mode when the battery is sufficiently charged, effectively shutting off the engine. 

This hybrid configuration achieves a certified fuel efficiency of over 23 kmpl, making it exceptionally fuel-efficient. Like other strong hybrid setups in India, this engine is also paired with an automatic gearbox, delivering a real-world fuel efficiency of over 20 kmpl. Regenerative braking is incorporated into the system, allowing energy to be captured and used to recharge the batteries whenever the accelerator pedal is released or the brakes are applied.

This is the most feature-rich Toyota available for sale in India. The top-tier models come equipped with LED lights all around. Inside, the front seats offer ventilation, paddle shifters, a fully digital console, a 360-degree camera view, an 8-way power-adjustable driver's seat, an electro-chromatic inner rearview mirror, a 25.6cm touchscreen infotainment system, and leather seats, among other features. Rear passengers enjoy powered Ottoman seats in the second row, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, rear sunshades, and a powered back door. 

Additionally, it includes Toyota's Safety Sense features such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), along with 6 airbags, electronic stability control, and more.
