What's New Outside?

2025 Tata Tiago EV

The 2025 Tiago EV features a refreshed design with subtle updates to its front fascia. The new model gets an updated front bumper grille with new design elements that replace the previous Y-shaped pattern, giving it a look similar to its bigger siblings. The signature blue accent on the front has been replaced by a grey-colored line that seamlessly connects the headlamps. Additionally, Tata has introduced its new logo with a white surround, along with a new LED headlamp setup replacing the older halogen units.

On the side, the hatchback now gets a new design for the 14-inch Hyperstyle wheel covers. The new pattern offers a dual-tone look to the wheel covers, however, the lower model gets a different wheel cover option. Both the front doors of the vehicle get an .ev badge in a blue colour. At the rear, the update continues with blacked-out badging and a shark fin antenna in the top-spec variant.

With the 2025 year update, Tata Motors has also updated the colour palette of the hatchback. It now comes in three new shades: Chill Lime, Supernova Copper, and Arizona Blue. The unit we had with us was the Chill Lime, which looks vibrant and eye-catching on the road. With subtle exterior updates, Tata Motors has made this small hatchback more appealing and modern.

Whats New Inside?

2025 Tata Tiago EV

The interior of the 2025 Tiago EV has received some major updates. It now has better features and a new interior colour. The cabin now offers a more appealing dual-tone grey and white dashboard and seats and a new melange fabric upholstery. The overall interior looks more welcoming, owing to the new colour tones.

Another big update on the interior is the addition of a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment. This is the same screen as the Punch EV and offers a plethora of information with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The brand has also replaced the three-spoke steering with the new two-spoke steering with an illuminated Tata logo. Another big change on the inside is the new digital instrument console, the new console offer all the vehicle related details in a new layout.

Now coming to the OS of the new 10.25-inch display, it offers a crisp and clear user interface, it is more interactive compared to the older screen. The wireless Apple CarPlay and Android auto connects seamlessly, and offers a good user experience. The new infotainment offer a plethora of information such as range, battery percentage, regenerative braking, speed and other vehicle related information. Other features of the new Tiago EV includes ESP, HD rearview camera, hill-hold control, traction control, corner stability control, and more.

Driving Experience

Tata Motors has made no changes to the mechanical components of the new Tiago EV. It continues to come with the same battery pack options and drivetrain as before. The drive experience remains the same as the previous model. It offers a comfortable and composed ride quality, the suspension is neutrally tuned to absorb almost all the undulations. The steering is light and predictable, making maneuvers and U-turns effortless.

The gear shifter knob is now more crisp and the laggy behaviour has been improved. It comes with three driving modes, default or Eco mode, City, and Sports mode. The Eco mode is sufficient enough for daily city driving and offers a decent range, but if you are someone who wants to test the capabilities the Sports mode give enough power to do quick maneuvers. The EV gets 3 level of regenerative braking.

The Tiago EV also maintains decent stability at high speeds. However, we couldnt test its top speed, though it can comfortably cross 100 km/h, pushing it to higher speeds will significantly impact its range.

Powertrain

The Tiago EV continues to be offered with two battery pack options: 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh. The MIDC range for both has been improved, with the smaller battery delivering a claimed range of 223 km and a real-world range of 168 km. Meanwhile, the larger 24 kWh battery offers a MIDC range of 293 km and a claimed real-world range of 205 km. In terms of performance, the 19.2 kWh battery pack produces 60 bhp and 110 Nm of peak torque, while the 24 kWh variant generates 74 bhp and 114 Nm of peak torque.

If we talk about the charging time, both the battery pack options supports DC fast charging which can charge the vehicle from 10% to 80% in 58 minutes. However, the slow charging time vary between the two variants. The smaller 19.2 kWh battery pack takes 6.9 hours for 10% to 100% charge, while the larger 24 kWh battery pack takes 8.7 hours. If you are using a 7.2 kW charger, the 10% to 100% charge can be achieved in 2.6 hours for the 19.2 kWh battery pack and in 3.6 hours for the bigger 24 kWh battery pack.

Verdict

With the 2025 model year update, the Tata Tiago EV has become more feature loaded and appealing. If you are a first time EV buyer, this EV checks all the right boxes, offers a decent range, comes with a good number of features that makes it a perfect city car. However, if we look at the pricing of the top-spec model, it misses on some of the features. The Tata Tiago EV continues to compete with the MG Comet EV and the Citroen eC3.
