We started off the mileage run from Ghaziabad at around 7:30 AM when the peak office traffic started to build up. We filled the tank using the auto-cut method and reset the trip meter. For the first 20 km, we drove the car on the highway where the speed was maintained at around 80-85 kmph.
After leaving the highway, we hit the city traffic, and at 26 km we took our first reading. At the 26 km mark, the displayed fuel economy of the C3 Aircross AT was 19.5 kmpl, where 80 percent of the initial distance was covered purely on the highway.
In the morning city traffic, the C3 Aircross was performing effortlessly. The engine is tuned in a way that it crawls in traffic with ease without any accelerator input. Also, the car offers a good ride and handling on bad surfaces as well as on highways.
Now, moving on to the run, we took the second reading at the 40 km mark, and the mileage had dropped by 3 km/l due to the stop-and-go traffic during peak office hours. At this point, the displayed fuel economy was 16.5 km/l. After this, we took the third reading and 60 km and the fourth at the 86 km mark and it was hovering between 15.8-15.9 kmpl.
Result - Kitna Deti Hai?
We finished the run at the 100 km mark and the displayed economy was 15.1 kmpl. The average speed shown on the cluster was 50 kmph. The tank was refilled again with the auto-cut method.
