Pros

1. Trusted 1.5L i-Vtec Petrol Engine

elevate

The Honda Elevate is propelled by a sturdy 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine borrowed from its sedan counterpart, the City. This engine is optimized to produce 119bhp and 145Nm of torque, providing a dynamic driving experience. Buyers have the option to choose between a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT unit, ensuring flexibility according to driving preferences. This engine is a breeze to drive and delivers linear performance and is one of the most refined engines out there in the segment.

2. Big Size Boot- 468L

Honda Elevate

The Honda Elevate proves to be a family-friendly mover and how do you assess that? A family outing demands a big boot and this is where the Honda Elevate shines bright with its generous boot space of 468 litres. This is in fact, much larger than the other rivals in the segment.

3. Premium Interiors: Elegant And Timeless

Honda Elevate

Another thing that works in the favour of Honda Elevate is the premium feel that you experience as soon as you enter the cabin. The dashboard layout with rectangular AC vents and a free-standing infotainment screen in the middle complemented by the dual-tone black and tan color theme will never make you tired of looking at it every time you drive. You can be sure that this is a cabin that will be your comfort place for a long long time.

4. Highest In-Segment: 220mm Ground Clearance

The SUVs are a popular choice in the country due to the practicality that they offer with their higher ground clearance. The Honda Elevate, with its 220 mm of ground clearance, is the segment leader and offers the highest ground clearance which will prove to be one of the biggest advantages when the roads go bad.

5. Solid Safety Suite: 6-Airbags, ADAS, And More

Another feather that Honda Elevate gets in its cap is the robust safety suit with features like Honda Sensing ADAS, 6-airbags, ISOFIX child mounts, lane watch assist, hill hold assist, ABS with EBD, and much more.

Cons

1. No Diesel Or Hybrid Powertrain

In times when carmakers are coming up with a diverse selection of powertrain options, if you want the Honda Elevate, you only have the option of a petrol engine. While SUVs in the segment offer diesel and hybrid powertrains as alternatives, the Elevate misses out on this one. And this feels like an even bigger miss, considering the fact that Honda City does offer a strong hybrid petrol option and could have been easily accommodated with the Elevate as well.

2. Missing Features

The cabin of Honda Elevate, although premium and feels plush with a decent set of features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, wireless charging, a 7-inch digital TFT instrument cluster, and a blind-view monitor, among other amenities, it misses out on some features that its rivals offer. These features include a 360-degree camera, a powered driver's seat, ambient lighting, auto wipers, and a few more. Interstingly, Elevate missed out on seat ventilation at first, but sensing the demand for it, the brand is now offering it as an official accessory.

3. Rear Seat Comfort Could Have Been Better

Honda Elevate

The rear seat of the Honda Elevate offers generous space for the rear seat occupants. The place is given due importance with amenities like a center armrest with dual cup holder and rear AC vents. However, the under-thigh support of the rear seat could have been a little more than it currently is. It is not a deal breaker, but a little more of it would have made it a ten-on-ten place to be in.

4. Styling: A Little Too Subtle

Honda Elevate

Don't take us wrong, the Honda Elevate is a well-built and proportionately designed SUV that adopts an elegant and evergreen design philosophy. And while it sits well with a section of buyers, we feel that it is a little too safe a route that the brand has taken by being too modest. You won't notice any eye-catching elements that will make you turn your head for another look at it. And again, while it presses upon its timeless design approach and there is nothing wrong with it, it could have used some differentiating elements in its cosmetics.

5. No Turbo Petrol Options: A Major Miss When Compared To Rivals

Even though the Elevate comes with only a petrol-powered engine, you only get a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine and not even a turbo-petrol mill for those seeking that extra grunt from their car. This feels like a bit too imposing on buyers who want to buy the SUV, but have to do with just what the Elevate has to offer without any room for personal choice. While the engine is peppy and feels adequate for general use, it lacks the much-needed scope of selection.

Verdict

There you have it. The top 5 Pros and Cons laid out there for you to decide what matters the most to you and what doesn't. While it has a few things that make it one of the best out there, some not so great things humble it at the same time. However, if in one line we have to talk about the verdict of the Honda Elevate, its a practical SUV that doesn't offer anything exceptional, but isn't something that can be outrightly ignored.
