Jeep Meridian Longitude Vs Tata Harrier Fearless Plus: Jeep India has launched the all-new Meridian facelift in India at Rs. 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The premium SUV has arrived in five and seven-seater versions. Available in four variants in total- Longitude, Longitude Plus, Limited (O) and Overland. With a starting price of 24.99 lakh, the Jeep Meridian can be considered a close rival of the Tata Harrier Fearless Plus variant, currently selling at Rs. 25.04 lakh (ex-showroom). Jeep Meridian Longitude Vs Tata Harrier Fearless Plus: Features
The Jeep Meridian Longitude/base variant gets features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, six airbags, automatic headlamps and 6 speaker sound system. Other features on offer with the base variant are 60+ passive safety features and rain-sensing wipers. Notably, the Meridian base variant doesn't get a panoramic sunroof, 4x4 selec-Terrain system and wireless phone charging.
On the other hand, the Tata Harrier Fearless Plus gets features such as dual 10.25-inch displays, connected car tech and 10 10-speaker JBL premium audio system. Other features offered with this variant are a powered tailgate, dual-zone climate control, 7 airbags, ADAS Level 2 and emergence and breakdown call assist.
Jeep Meridian Longitude Vs Tata Harrier Fearless Plus: Engine
The Jeep Meridian Longitude variant comes powered by a 2.0-litre diesel powerplant. The engine on offer is mated to a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic torque converter unit. With this configuration, the Meridian generates 168 bhp of power and 350 Nm of torque. Notably, this variant misses out on the 4x4 drivetrain which is offered from the Limited (O) variant onwards.
In comparison, the Tata Harrier Fearless Plus sources its power from a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The powerplant is linked to a 6-speed manual and a 2.0-litre diesel 6-speed Automatic transmission. It generates 170 PS of power and 350 Nm of torque. The SUV provides a claimed mileage of 16.80 kmpl (MT) and 14.60 kmpl for automatic variant.
