The Maruti Celerio was once India's highest-selling car and set new standards for fuel efficiency. It was considered, and even now people view it as a better choice than the Maruti Alto K10, which lacks space and practicality. The Celerio entered its third generation in 2021 with a new shape, new features, and a 1.0L K-Series petrol engine. There is also an S-CNG version, which holds the top ranking for fuel efficiency, delivering 34.43 km/kg. Now, lets see how significant the improvements are in the new model. Maruti Celerio Exterior
The new Celerio is more curvy and stylish than the outgoing model and appears capable of accommodating 4 to 5 people easily, which was not the case with the 2nd generation Celerio. The headlights have become rounder, and in blue, the car looks athletic. However, it still uses simple halogen lights instead of LED headlamps or tail lights. Additionally, the alloy wheels have a slightly tweaked design and are now black.
Maruti Celerio Interior
Even the interior design has changed, with the AC vents moving to the sides to make space for the 7-inch infotainment screen, which is the biggest update in the 3rd generation model. Additionally, the instrument cluster now features a secondary digital screen that provides all the vehicle's details. However, the main speedometer is still analog, which many find more visually appealing than digital ones.
Apart from these changes, Maruti did not provide automatic climate control, and the switches for powered windows are placed in the middle, below the infotainment screen.
Maruti Celerio Engine
Two sets of powertrains come with Maruti Celerio variants: a naturally aspirated 1.0 L petrol engine and a CNG kit. Additionally, the CNG option is only available with the VXi trim and a 5-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, the petrol engine is available with VXI onwards, along with the option of automatic gear shifts.
This is the same engine that was used in the earlier Celerio, and it has proven to be a great option for city driving, with excellent lower-end and mid-range performance.

Verdict
The Maruti Celerio is a perfect vehicle for people who want a small car for daily errands and city driving, especially during peak traffic. Its compact size makes it extremely easy to drive and saves a lot of money on fuel. The earlier model was also very easy to drive, but people had to compromise on space. The automaker has addressed this issue in the current model.
