Volkswagen Taigun Engine Options

Two engines used in VW and Skoda cars are the 1.0L TSI and the 1.5L TSI EVO. The first one is known for its fuel economy, low maintenance, decent punch, and affordability, while the second one is known for its performance, fuel efficiency, and refinement.

Additionally, both are turbocharged petrol engines. The 1.0L TSI is available with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the 1.5L TSI is available with a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG transmission.

Comfortline - 1.0 L TSI

The Taigun starts at Rs 11.69 lakh with the Comfortline 1.0L TSI, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. It includes features like 6 airbags, LED tail lamps, a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen, and more. Highline - 1.0 L TSI

The second variant of the Taigun is the Highline, in which VW adds alloy wheels, a reverse camera, paddle shifters, and a bigger touchscreen. This is the best variant for people who demand a little bit of everything from a car and want to stay within budget.

Additionally, an automatic transmission is available in this variant, making it even more desirable. Regarding its price, the manual version costs Rs 13.88 lakh, and the automatic version costs Rs 15.43 lakh.

Topline - 1.0 L TSI

The second top variant with the 1.0L TSI engine includes all the modern features you would expect in a car like this. However, this is the top model in the standard version; after this, the GT line starts, which is focused on performance and comes with a sporty exterior and dark interiors. Here, VW adds diamond-cut alloys, cruise control, and electric seats.

Price of the 6-speed manual gearbox is Rs 16.30 lakh, and the price for the automatic transmission is Rs 17.87 lakh.

GT Line - 1.0 L TSI

Volkswagen reserves the 'GT' tag for their high-performance vehicles, but now they have also introduced it to their entry-level cars. The Taigun GT line features sporty aesthetics, including black alloys, a black grille, and black interiors. If you want a distinctive model with bold looks that will turn heads, then the GT Line is the one for you.

An important thing to note here is that there aren't any extra features over the Topline variant; it only gets athletic design elements. The price for the manual version is Rs 14.08 lakh, the GT Edge Trail Edition is Rs 16.77 lakh, and the automatic is Rs 15.63 lakh.

GT - 1.5 L TSI

From here the performance variant of the VW Taigun starts, and the gate to 7-speed DSG opens. In total there are three variant of 1.5 L TSI EVO enigne, and this is the first one. That said, if you are fan of driving and loves to rev your engine hard, and want a sports car like performance, you are looking at the right trim.

The price for the manual transmission version is Rs 16.77 lakh and Rs 17.36 lakh for the 7-speed DSG. Apart from the power, the second best part of this engine is that it comes with ACT (Active Cylinder Technology). This means that when the engine is at low RPMs, two cylinders shut off, and the other two carry on creating power. So, at low speeds, expect good fuel economy, and when you rev it hard, the other two cylinders come to life and provide a fascinating experience.

GT Plus Chrome 1.5 L TSI

As the name suggests, the chrome treatment gives it a luxurious look, similar to the standard 1.0L variants. Here, you dont get the black treatment found in the previous model. It is ideal for people who want performance but prefer not to boast about its capabilities - more of an understated trim. The price of the manual version is Rs 18.53 lakh, and Rs 19.73 lakh for the 7-speed DSG.

GT Plus Sport 1.5L TSI

The top model in the Volkswagen Taigun lineup comes with special color options: Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte, giving the Taigun performance model a distinctive personality. The prices vary based on the color options. This variant also features aluminum pedals, red brake calipers, a sport steering wheel, and a Carbon Steel Grey roof.

The price starts at Rs 18.73 lakh for the Deep Black Pearl paint with a manual gearbox. The Deep Black Pearl with chrome is available at the same price. The Carbon Steel Grey with chrome and non-chrome options are priced at Rs 18.79 lakh.

For the DSG gearbox, VW charges Rs 19.93 lakh for the Deep Black Pearl and Rs 19.99 lakh for the Carbon Steel Grey paint.
