Two engines used in VW and Skoda cars are the 1.0L TSI and the 1.5L TSI EVO. The first one is known for its fuel economy, low maintenance, decent punch, and affordability, while the second one is known for its performance, fuel efficiency, and refinement.

The second top variant with the 1.0L TSI engine includes all the modern features you would expect in a car like this. However, this is the top model in the standard version; after this, the GT line starts, which is focused on performance and comes with a sporty exterior and dark interiors. Here, VW adds diamond-cut alloys, cruise control, and electric seats.

Price of the 6-speed manual gearbox is Rs 16.30 lakh, and the price for the automatic transmission is Rs 17.87 lakh.

Volkswagen reserves the 'GT' tag for their high-performance vehicles, but now they have also introduced it to their entry-level cars. The Taigun GT line features sporty aesthetics, including black alloys, a black grille, and black interiors. The price for the manual transmission version is Rs 16.77 lakh and Rs 17.36 lakh for the 7-speed DSG. Apart from the power, the second best part of this engine is that it comes with ACT (Active Cylinder Technology). This means that when the engine is at low RPMs, two cylinders shut off, and the other two carry on creating power. So, at low speeds, expect good fuel economy, and when you rev it hard, the other two cylinders come to life and provide a fascinating experience.

The top model in the Volkswagen Taigun lineup comes with special color options: Deep Black Pearl and Carbon Steel Grey Matte, giving the Taigun performance model a distinctive personality. The prices vary based on the color options. This variant also features aluminum pedals, red brake calipers, a sport steering wheel, and a Carbon Steel Grey roof.

The price starts at Rs 18.73 lakh for the Deep Black Pearl paint with a manual gearbox. The Deep Black Pearl with chrome is available at the same price. The Carbon Steel Grey with chrome and non-chrome options are priced at Rs 18.79 lakh.

For the DSG gearbox, VW charges Rs 19.93 lakh for the Deep Black Pearl and Rs 19.99 lakh for the Carbon Steel Grey paint.
