2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport Launching On February 13

It was just last year that Land Rover brought in the 2020 Discovery Sport facelift in the international markets. And come February 13, 2020, the British manufacturer will launch their entry-level SUV in Indian markets too.

The 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport ditches the D8 platform for a Premium Transverse Architecture. The latter is used by 2020 Range Rover Evoque. Although the SUV sits on a new platform, the dimensions fall short from the predecessor. It is now 4,597 mm in length, 2,069 mm in width and the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,741 mm.

Now, taking you through the design of the 2020 Land Rover Discovery facelift then the front now looks sleek and agile. The angular LED headlights with integrated LED Daytime Running Lights. It also gets revised bumper and grille design.

At the rear, the bumper has been redesigned and the chrome exhaust tip fits in neatly. The taillights are tweaked and are pointy at the sides. Overall, the exteriors are restyled a bit and it is the cabin which now feels more premium and upmarket. It takes inspiration from Velar and Evoque.

The inside of the SUV gets a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit. It will support connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also see new air-con vents along with steering mounted controls which now comes with touch pads. The 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster adds a bit of a style to the cabin.

Globally, Land Rover Discovery Sport comes with multiple diesel and petrol engines. However, the India-spec version will stick to the D180 diesel and P250 petrol engine. Both the engines churn out 180 bhp and 250 bhp respectively. Also, a 9-speed automatic gearbox will come on board.

The facelifted model will continue to use the 5+2 seating pattern for some trims thus adding an edge over its rivals. It competes with Volvo XC60, Mercedes Benz GLC, BMW X3 and Audi Q3. The prices for the same will be increased knowing its a facelift and it'll come with BS6 engines. Currently, the prices of the Discovery Sport stick to Rs 44.68 lakh and goes up to Rs 61.95 lakh. All prices relate to ex-showroom, Delhi.
