Ather 450X New Variant & Price Update Details - What's Changed?
Earlier Ather used to sell the 450 Plus as its base model. While the 450X was sold as a top spec with more features and performance on offer. However, the latest update has brought interesting changes to its lineup. Now, the 450 Plus has been discontinued in India. Hence, to replace it, the 450X is now available in two variants. The first is called Standard while the top-spec is called 450X with Pro-Pack. The prices of the Standard are Rs 98,183 while the Pro-Pack will cost Rs 1,28,443 to buy new.
The new Standard variant has brought all the updates that the new 450X Gen 3 brought along with it. Meanwhile, the 450 Plus lagged on these updates; until now. The 2023 Ather 450X STD, however, does not offer features like Bluetooth, fast charging, ride modes, hill assist, google maps, etc. The 7-inch touchscreen on it comes with a greyscale. But, after missing these features, it still offers the same battery and motor pack as that on the Pro-Pack. It is equipped with a 3.7kWh battery pack that offers a certified range of 146 km per charge. Also, the top speed of it is 90 kmph while the 0-40 kmph is achieved in 3.3 seconds only.
But, if someone opts for the Pro-Pack, they get more features. For example, Bluetooth connectivity, OTA updates, coloured touchscreen, Google Maps, a five-year warranty, TPMS, Parking Assist, Hill Assist, Riding Modes, Fast Charging, etc. Also, the charging time of it is only 5h 40m only. Meanwhile, the Standard variant gets completely charged in 15h 20m. The price for Pro-Pack is more than the Standard due to these feature options.
Verdict
The simplification of Ather's lineup is going to prove beneficial to its buyers. Also, the 450 Plus was not up-to-date when it was compared with the Gen 3 top-spec. However, the new update of specs and also the reduction of prices is a welcome move by Ather. Some of its main rivals in India are - Ola S1 Pro, TVS iQube, & Bajaj Chetak.
