2023 BSA Gold Star 650 Red Colour Details
The Gold Star is a retro-modern bike. This means that its design is heavily emphasized by its ancestors. Hence, the old-school bits are widely visible. The round headlight with round turn indicators, dual-pod semi-digital instrument panel, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, low-slung seating, and a long rear mudguard all combined make up for a retro theme. However, the retro Gold Star also has some modern tech to keep it fresh. The spied test bikes have a USB phone charger on the handlebar. It looks similar as seen on the global models. Hence, we can expect that Bluetooth connectivity might also be attached to it. However, we are not very sure about it as the bike is still in the testing phase.
Additionally, the previous test bikes were only seen in the black shade. The recent set of pics shows to us the red and chrome mix of pain shade. The red colour bike looks a complete eye candy on the road. Additionally, the heavy engine construction and the single-side exhaust have been draped in chrome. The overall mix of these shades makes the red colour look more enticing than its black sibling.
Engine & Specifications
As it will compete against the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, the Gold Star has a bigger engine. It is based on a 652cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine construction. This engine makes a peak power of 45.6 PS and 55 Nm of peak torque. However, only a 5-speed gearbox is used on the international model. Whereas, the Interceptor 650 comes with a 6-speed transmission. Meanwhile, the front suspension is a USD unit with gas-charged shockers at the rear for a comfortable ride.
Verdict
BSA holds a heritage with its name. This heritage is widely awaited in India as the Gold Star is under testing. However, it is not going to be any time sooner than March 2023 that we see the Gold Star running on Indian roads. The final production bike might be displayed at the upcoming Indian Auto Expo 2023.
