For the first time, the 2024 KTM 390 Adventure has been spotted on Indian roads, and this time, it appears to be near the brand's Chakan facility. Previously, the bike was seen in Europe featuring a 21-inch front wheel, but in these latest sightings, the test model is equipped with a 19-inch front wheel. These spy images offer us a close look at the bike, unveiling many of its design details. It's interesting to note the change in the front wheel size, which might suggest some adjustments for the Indian market.

2024 KTM 390 Adventure: What To Expect?
On the visual side, it appears tall, slim, and quite fierce, resembling a scaled-down version of the 790, 890, and 1290 Adventures worldwide. Up front, there's a transparent visor featuring a small vent and a vertically stacked projector headlight with distinctive boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The test mule also boasts a front beak in place of a standard fender, and the side fairing seems to be a fresh addition compared to the current model. In some respects, the design draws inspiration from the KTM Dakar bike. It might be a good move for KTM to adjust the gearing to better suit the adventurous nature of this bike.
Additionally, the 390 Adventure test mule showcases a new single-piece seat and a broader grab rail. Notably, it will sport an underbelly exhaust similar to the current Duke. With this setup, we can anticipate the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure to provide more ground clearance than its current counterpart.
The motorcycle comes equipped with a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear spoke wheel, enveloped in block-pattern tires. Interestingly, KTM has been testing a variant of the new 390 Adventure in Europe featuring a 21-inch front and 19-inch rear spoke wheel. It's likely that this option will be offered in the Indian market as well.

Under the hood, the bike is powered by a 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 44.25bhp and 39Nm of torque. Its power is managed by a six-speed gearbox, and it features a bi-directional quick-shifter for seamless, clutchless gear shifts. KTM is introducing a fresh chassis with the engine borrowed from the new 390 Duke. This chassis is supported by USD front forks and a mono-shock, both expected to be adjustable for a customized riding experience.
In terms of features, the motorcycle is anticipated to include full LED lighting, a TFT display with smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth capability, a charging port, traction control, various ride modes, ABS modes, and a quick-shifter, among other functionalities.
The current flagship KTM 390 Adventure is priced at Rs. 3.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for your reference. Anticipating the release of an upgraded version, we can reasonably expect a slight increase in costperhaps a few thousand rupees more. However, there's a chance that KTM might pleasantly surprise us by maintaining the new version's price at the current model's level, similar to what they did with the latest 390 Duke. It all depends on how generous KTM decides to be with the pricing strategy for the updated 390 Adventure.
Verdict
The 2024 KTM 390 Adventure's tailored design changes and anticipated feature upgrades make it a compelling prospect for adventure enthusiasts. The shift to a 19-inch front wheel, enhanced ergonomics, and the promise of advanced technology hint at a well-rounded package. If priced competitively, KTM could continue its success in the adventure bike segment. Stay up to date with all the automotive news and updates by joining our 91Wheels Whatsapp Group today!
