BMW India has launched its third Long Wheelbase (LWB) sedan, the 5 Series LWB in India at Rs 72.90 lakh (ex-showroom) The BMW 5 Series LWB comes with a single 530 Li M Sport variant and a single 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine option. The new 5 Series LWB takes some design cues from its bigger sibling the 7-Series LWB. Loaded with a plethora of features the 5 Series LWB is a perfect business sedan in the Indian market. BMW 5 Series LWB - Design, Dimension, & Features
The newly launched BMW 5 Series LWB boasts the signature BMW design language with its illuminated kidney grille, and four-eye face with an adaptive LED headlamp. The sedan gets a long bonnet with sharp lines which looks good on the sedan. The side profile gets a sleek shoulder line that runs across the length of the sedan and merges with the tail lamps. The India spec model is fitted with 225/55-R18 wheels. The brand offers 19-inch wheels as an option in the Indian market. The rear of the sedan gets a wraparound LED tail lamp.
Coming to the dimensions, the BMW 5 Series LWB measures 5,175 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,520 mm in height. Moreover, the sedan's wheelbase needs a special mention, it gets a wheelbase of 3,105 mm.
If we look at the interior, the interior is fitted with vegan leather seats, a minimalistic dashboard with hidden air-conditioning vents, and a curved display with a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and 12.3-inch instrument cluster, wireless charging, 18-speaker Bowers and Wilkins 655-watt speakers, 4-zone climate control, a fixed panoramic sunroof among other features.
The safety net of the 5 Series LWB consists of multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, front, and rear parking sensors, Level 2 ADAS features, and other safety features
BMW 5 Series LWB Engine Specifications
The BMW 5 Series LWB is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-charged petrol engine aided with a 48-Volt electric motor mild-hybrid system. This engine produces 254 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque. Mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The sedan can do 0-100 kmph in 6.5 seconds.
Verdict
The newly launched BMW 530 Li M Sport is the third LWB sedan in BMW India's lineup. The sedan competes with the Mercedes-Benz E Class LWB. BMW India wants to gain a significant share in the LWB sedan market and the BMW 5 Series LWB have the potential to bring a good sales number. The new 5 Series LWB can be purchased at an installment of Rs 75,555 per month.
