The BMW i7, the German luxury brand's best-selling electric vehicle, now comes with only two battery setups. They have silently omitted the xDrive 60 M Sport variant, which used to cost Rs 2.13 crore ex-showroom. The starting variant, eDrive 50, will now be the main attraction at Rs 2.03 crore. The top trim, the M70 xDrive, is a high-performance model boasting 659 PS and costs Rs 2.50 crore. Keep reading to learn more about this latest step by BMW. BMW i7 eDrive 50
This electric vehicle has a 101.7 kWh battery pack that makes 455 Ps and send all the power to rear wheels. Also, the 0 to 100 km timing of this beast is 5.5 seconds. Most imporantly, the range of eDrive 50 is 603 km. This is the pinnacle of luxury and competes with the Mercedes-Benz EQS and Audi RS e-tron GT.
The i7 shares the same body type and many features with the 7 Series, while the Mercedes-Benz EQS offers a completely different design. However, Mercedes has announced that the EQS will be discontinued in the future, and they will only sell the electric version of the S-Class, following BMW's lead.
BMW i7 Features
The dashboard features a 14.9-inch BMW Curved Display that integrates the infotainment and drivers displays. Additionally, there is a crystal display throughout the front console, and the AC vents are hidden. Above, you'll find the Sky Lounge, which is a panoramic glass sunroof. In the rear seats, BMW has added a 31.3-inch 8K theater screen with Amazon Fire TV built in.

Verdict
A big reason for this decision could be that BMW is seeing fewer customers attracted to the xDrive 60 variant, with more heading directly toward the more powerful xDrive M70 variant. The xDrive 60 was merely an all-wheel-drive iteration of the eDrive 50, offering slightly more power but nearly the same amount of technology. Now, customers will have greater clarity regarding these variants, as one is a regular trim and the other is a performance trim with an M badge.
