2024 BMW M4 CS: Powertrain
The CS retains the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo powertrain, with 543bhp and 650Nm of torque, paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. BMW has not only tweaked the internal of the engine management system, it has also re-adjusted the maximum charge pressure of the twin-turbochargers, as well as using a model-specific engine mounting.
The car maker has also enhanced the cooling system, and it also went along with a forged lightweight crankshaft, as well as an extremely rigid crankshaft. The wire-arc sprayed iron-coating of the cylinder bores is said to reduce frictional losses.
Weight Loss
Like we said before, the M4 CS is all about keeping things lightweight. The grille is now frameless and is said to weigh lesser than before. The roof of the M4 CS is made out of CFRP, which brings the car's centre of gravity closer to the road, thus enhancing its handling and cornering capabilities. Other elements such as the front splitter, front mirror caps, air intakes, rear diffuser, and the bonnet are also made out of CFRP, which plays an important role in keeping the weight of this car as low as possible.
To round things off on the exteriors, the exhaust system of this car features a titanium silencer with electronically-controlled flaps and quad tail-pipes.
The same ethos continues on the inside as well; it gets M Carbon bucket seats as standard, while bits such as the centre console, shift paddles, and other elements are made out of CFRP as well. Overall, BMW says all the changes result in the M4 CS being 20kg lighter than the M4 Competition Coupe with xDrive.

Equipment
The interiors receive Merino Leather black-and-red contrast upholstery, and you also get BMW's familiar Curved Display setup featuring a 14.9-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster. an active differential at the rear axle, adaptive M suspension, a drift analyser, laptimer, attentiveness alerts, and a ten-stage traction control among many other things.
Verdict
The M4 CS does not have any direct rivals in India at the moment, but the Audi RS5 Sportback could be considered as a potential rival, even if they differ in terms of the number of doors. The M4 CS is not as hardcore as the CSL in terms of losing weight though, and it might just be the perfect sweet-spot if you were to buy one.
