BMW Motorrad India has launched a complete new range of touring bikes. The new range comprises 4 models starting from Rs 23.95 lakh ex-showroom.
BMW Motorrad India wing has launched a new range of touring bikes. This range comprises of total 2 products and 4 models. The range starts from a price tag of Rs 23.95 lakh ex-showroom pan India. BMW has already commenced the delivery process of these touring machines in India. Both of these products belong to the MY22 made by BMW.

BMW R 1250 RT Details
The first product is the BMW R 1250 RT bagger is a successor of the discontinued R 1200 RT. The new bike endorses some radical design changes to make it easier to use. It has been solely designed to provide extreme riding comfort over long-distance touring. It has a revised fairing design to make it more aerodynamic as per the company.
Additionally, the company has included more features on the new R 1250 RT. It now comes with removable luggage panniers on both sides, a luggage rack, adjustable windscreen, & heated grips are also on offer. For enhancing its safety, BMW has added features like the steering stabilizer, multiple riding modes, cruise control, hill hold assist, and even a bigger TFT screen with a 10.25-inch display. It also gets Bluetooth smartphone connectivity for a connected riding experience.
Powering it is the same old engine as seen on its predecessor bike. The 1,245cc, inline-4 engine makes peak power of 134 hp and 143 Nm of peak torque. It also weighs around 279 kg wet but still it can do 0-100 kmph under 3.7 seconds. This means that it is a fast motorcycle. The starting price for it is Rs 23.95 lakh and it comes in only a single variant.

BMW K 1600 Details
The second product that has been launched in India is the K 1600 tourer. The company has launched it in 3 variants which are - K1600B, GTL, & Grand America. The first is the bagger, K1600B is priced at Rs 29.90 lakh ex-showroom. The GTL and Grand America have been priced at Rs 32 lakh & Rs 33 lakh respectively. Both of these models are more touring-focused.
Speaking of the bagger, it remains the most simplistic bike in terms of design due to the street-oriented design. The GTL and Grand America come with a bulky design that includes the features like side panniers, top box, large adjustable windscreen, etc. Meanwhile, the core design remains mostly the same on all of these three variants.
The key differences between these bikes are - reversing aid, a smartphone tray, and an audio system with speakers for playing music. However, the engine and specifications are the same on all of the variants. The K1600 uses a 1,649cc, inline-6 engine that makes peak power of 160 hp and 180 Nm of peak torque. Because these are touring-specific bikes, the weight is on the heavier side. For example, top-of-the-line Grand America is 367 kg (wet).
Its main rivals in India are - Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special & Honda Gold Wing.
