BMW India has just launched the top variant of their popular X7 SUV, called the Signature Edition, at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.33 Cr. This limited-edition model is available exclusively on the BMW Online Shop, with only a few units to be manufactured. The special variant brings updates to both the exterior and interior, and customers can choose between two BMW Individual paint options: Tanzanite Blue and Dravit Grey.
Additionally, this edition is manufactured locally at BMW's Chennai plant, and it is powered by the same 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-6 engine. BMW X7 Signature Edition Exterior
The top model of the BMW X7 features a new kidney grille with chrome highlights. Additionally, the air intakes within the grille are also accented with chrome. The LED crystal headlights incorporate Swarovski glass-cut crystals, creating an exclusive headlight design not found in any other vehicle. Aluminum roof rails and other aluminum exterior accents further differentiate from its other variants. Moreover, the 3D taillights feature new inner graphics, and the connecting chrome bar is covered by smoked glass.
BMW X7 Signature Edition Interior
According to the press release, the X7 M Sport Signature Edition features a new curved display with a 14.9-inch infotainment system and a 12.3-inch drivers display. BMW states that it appears to be floating and is driver-focused, reflecting a typical BMW interior characteristic.
The instrument panel is all new, wrapped in genuine leather, and features X7 badging in the crystal glass area near the co-passenger side. The 14-color ambient lighting is present, and both the gear selector and the rotary dial are finished in crystal.
To add more, there is the Ambient Air Package, which filters the incoming air, and the large sunroof, which extends to the third row, has 15,000 light points inside it that change with the ambient light controls. To elevate its luxury factor, BMW provides rear passengers with Alcantara cushions and captain seats in BMW Individual Merino upholstery.
Lastly, crystal door pinsyes, the door pins used to lock the doorsare finished in crystal, and there is a 16-speaker surround sound system from Harman Kardon.
BMW X7 Signature Edition Powertrain
To make it clear, the full name of this model is the BMW X7 xDrive40i M Sport Signature Edition. It features the same 3.0L TwinPower Turbo petrol inline-6 engine that makes 381 hp and 520 Nm of torque, and it also uses a 48V electric motor assistance, which provides an additional 12 hp and 200 Nm of torque.
The 8-speed Steptronic, which is basically a dual-clutch automatic transmission, helps it cover the 0 to 100 km/h distance in 5.8 seconds. So, basically, this is a high-end sports car engine presented in a luxury SUV to make it a top performer in every aspect.

Verdict
The BMW X7 is based on the 7 Series platform, and there are many similarities between these two ultra-luxurious vehicles. Now, BMW has taken a step forward with the X7 by launching this new Signature Edition, which features Swarovski crystal cuts not found in the 7 Series. This move comes as the SUV market is booming, with consumers increasingly opting for SUVs over sedans. Now, customers will have one more reason to choose this variant over the Mercedes-Benz GLS Class and Audi Q8.
