GMC made its entry in the premium SUV segment in the country with the launch of the Chevrolet Captiva in the year 2008. The car was launched in the 9th Auto Expo and was priced from Rs 17.7 lakh (ex-showroom). For out this sequel of Walking Down The Memory Lane, we bring you Chevrolet Captiva brochure images.

The Chevrolet Captiva had a bold and aggressive front fascia and elements such as large headlamps, sharp bumper design, and 17-inch alloy wheels gave it a distinctive styling. Apart from this, the flared wheel arches and lots of chrome elements made it look bulky and complemented the overall character of the car. At the rear, the large tailgate and vertical tail lamps gave it a subtle look, and overall, the design of the Captiva did make it one of the best looking premium SUVs in the segment.

A 2.0-L, four-cylinder diesel engine powered the first-gen Captiva and featured CRDi and VGT systems. The maximum power output from this engine was 150 bhp while the peak torque figure stood at 320 Nm. The car came with a 5-Speed MT gearbox while an automatic variant with 4WD system was launched in 2009. In addition to this, the car also came with features such as ESP, AWD, automatic level ride control, hill descent control system, and more.

The Captiva had a 5+2 seating layout while the cabin too was extremely spacious and comfortable. The seats had supreme under-thigh and lumbar support, making it a great car for long-distance travel. There were plenty of features available with the car such as an integrated 2-Din CD player with a 6 speaker audio system, power windows, electrically adjustable ORVM, an 8-way power-adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, etc.

In terms of safety features, the Captiva had ABS, EBD, Dual Airbags, ventilated disc brakes, and a reinforced body shell. The brand launched the XTREME edition of the Captiva in the year 2010. The XTREME variant came with refreshed bumpers design, sunroof, dual-tone interiors, smoked tail lamps, and a 4WD system with a manual gearbox.
