Citroen eC3 Electric GNCAP Findings
The model tested by GNCAP was equipped with front driver and passenger airbags, front seat belt reminder, belt load limiter, and ABS with EBD among other safety features. However, the vehicle showed poor chest protection for the front passenger and weak chest protection for the driver.
The EV scored 20.86 points out of 34 in adult safety and for child safety, it scored 10.55 points out of 49 points. These points resulted in 0 Adult safety stars and 1 star for child safety. The vehicle lacks a three-point seat belt for all passengers, no ISOFIX mounts for a child seat, and the car only offers one universal position suitable for a universal child seat.
The disappointing GNCAP crash test results are concerning, not only for the Indian market only, for the international ones as well. The carmaker is set to introduce new safety features such as 6-airbags, ISOFIX mounts, and rear seat belt reminders among other features later this year. However, the current test without these features has turned out disappointing.

Talking about the GNCAP Crash Test of the Citroen eC3 Alejandro Furas, Global NCAP, General Secretary said, 'This is an appalling result from Stellantis. PSA was once a leader on safety, but now, as part of the Stellantis group, the manufacturer appears to have taken a major backward step.'
Verdict
Citroen eC3 comes with very less features and the GNCAP crash test comes with dissapointment. The brand is planning to offer new features by the end of this year but the latest findings are unsatisfactory. The 0 safety rating is a concern for Indian consumers as well as intenational market where the brand is intending to sell the vehicle.
