Hero Vida Electric Scooter - Less Price, New Showrooms
The reduction of prices of V1 has now made it cheaper than ever. The e-scooter is sold in two versions - V1 & V1 Pro. The V1 is the base model that now costs Rs 1.20 lakh (including the FAME II subsidy). The latter i.e. the V1 Pro is the top-spec that is now priced at Rs 1.40 lakh (including FAME II subsidy). Apart from this, there are no other changes to both of the models. The design of both models is the same but there is a slight difference in features and performance. The V1 can do up to 143 km per charge. Meanwhile, the V1 Pro can do up to 165 km per charge. The top speed of both models is limited to 80 kmph. Also, Hero claims that both models can be charged at 1.2 km per minute of charging rate. Additionally, the Vida e-scooter also gets swappable batteries.
Meanwhile, Hero is eyeing expanding its Vida electric showrooms in India rapidly. The Vida e-scooter was sold only in Jaipur, Delhi, & Bangalore till now. However, Hero has now opened new showrooms in Pune, Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Nasik, Hyderabad, Chennai, Calicut, and Kochi. Additionally, Hero plans to expand its Vida showroom lineup to 100 cities by the end of 2023. The main rivals of Hero Vida are Ather 450X, Ola S1 Pro, & TVS iQube.
Verdict
Hero Vida is a promising electric scooter that beholds good brand value. However, Hero entered a bit late to the EV scooter party in India. Also, its presence is limited to a handful of cities until now. The addition of new showrooms and a good price cut will surely help in increasing the sales of V1 pan India in the coming months.
